Once again the crew came together for a sic day and night of riding and racing. Picked up the bus and our first rider, Gemma Holland, from the station at around 9:30 (how keen is she?) and it was back to Monkypig Central to await the crew who arrived shortly after. Had some time to kill before another pick up so with a crew of like 10 we headed off to our local for a few…

Huge Huge Thankyou to Ado at Cre8ive and Franca at Extreme for looking after the riders.
Also Red Frogs for the BBQ.
It was a beautiful winter day and at least 5 people were bleeding by noon. There was already some carnage in practice and we knew that throughout the day there would be a lot more! Everybody…

Deep in the backwaters of Woonoona, a South Coast local happened upon a tight, twisty, pathy nirvana. The grom-friendly concrete was perfect for a fun race and Tim Day decided to make it happen, drumming up support and setting a date.
After a postponement due to rain, the race was rescheduled for a few weeks later. Stoke grew as the date approached, with more and more crew clicking that attending button. The 26th came and with it a clear, still day, unseasonably…

scarce details right now, just talked with Bow on the phone. Kelly killed the juniors and took first place!
Opens was:
1- James Kelly
2- Andrew Chapman
3- George Mackenzie
4- Brendan Davidson (junior winner for Brittania and Vernon)
Little shitty poof Kelly is on fire! Next stop, Maryhill. Looks like we might have an Australian taking the junior world champs this year! Kill it Kelly!

The weather forecast had not been looking good for a whole week leading up to the race, but a whopping thirty seven riders (not counting spectators, bystanders and photogs) actually showed up to take on Kongwak Road, rain or shine. The drive to Kongwak was ominous. Dark clouds as far as the eye could see and rain about half an hour out. Crossing our fingers and closing our eyes we chanted to ourselves…

ASRA is proud to unveil our new rider rego system. If you're organising a race you can use this system to register riders and collect their rego fees prior to your race. It's free, it's easy, and it takes away one of the big headaches of organising a race.
So what is it exactly? If you're organising a race, ASRA will create a Rider Registration Form especially for your event. Riders will have to use this form to register and pay prior to attending the race.…

Hopkin Skate seems to be the local hangout for all the grom skaters these days, we have seen numbers rise dramaticly every month with more and more kids getting stoked on longboarding. Every school holidays the shop is jam packed with kids frothing on the skate gear, meeting up for sessions and just general stoke. There are so many kids around the Sydney area ready to shred these days it's not funny. Kam and myself have put together a few ride days in the past few…

In 2010, Radelaide's first outlaw was held on the bottom section of Eagle on the Hill. With about 30 riders on a road which is divided from oncoming traffic, the race was over quickly enough that a second race could be run at a different location afterwards.
This year was a little different. Eagle on the Hill is now a hot spot for police and our scene has…

Words by Sean Meaney Kongwak was a sick event put on by some great riders. Cam and Louis really know how to throw an event together, the traffic was very well controlled and the hill was absolutely amazing; nice and steep sweepers leading into a banked hairpin and then running out into a right handed turn before crossing the finish. Speeds where up around 60kph+ and there were plenty of guys who sorely regretted not bringing leathers, or in Ben's case, elbow…

Josh E , Chad and Dean were at a Millwood sesh this avo with another 10 or so crew , when whilst doing the long run down Lochnivar had a local resident drive his suv directly in front of them as they came down and around a mild right hander accelerating up to full speed on their own side of the road. He just turned and jamed on the brakes right in front of the trio who barely missed his car whilst riding off the road and onto the gravel and dirt verg .
the police came and were…

Greetings fellow longboarders!
Welcome to 2011 and another year of exciting things happening here with ASRA.
Looking back over the past year there has been a tremendous growth in this sport we all love and do - longboarding. When I first moved to Australia nearly eight years ago you would rarely see anyone with a longboard. Nowadays they are everywhere. I've skated my local haunt in Manly for the past three years without seeing a single other person there skating.…
