Jackson Shapiera edged out Dennis Westphal in a thrilling final to become downhill skateboarding's Master of the Hill. Dave Kelly took out the Luge, while in Classic Luge Adam Sparks had to come from behind to overtake Brad Sterritt.

ASRA Admin Rant: On Gravity

The following is my own personal rant. Fire away!

Why do people use the terms "gravity" and "gravity sports"? All sports rely on gravity, so using "gravity" to define your sport is completely meaningless. Golf requires gravity. Football requires gravity. Swimming requires gravity.

Premium Member Sydney City Bomb Squad's Cannonball Run

On Friday night, in the heart of the city of Sydney, the Sydney City Bomb Squad hosted the first annual Cannonball Run. This race is more of an 'urban assault', which consisted of pushing through busy streets and negotiation of the right line through packed traffic of not only pedestrians but also peak-hour traffic.

ASRA Admin PC crowned King of the Kones

Paul Carey, the King of Na Kosta, was krowned King of the Kones for the third year in a row at Allawah on Sunday. On one of the most difficult courses ever set at the home of Sydney slalom he cruised to a 0.4 second win over Colin Beck, before claiming second place in the gnarliest skate discipline ever invented - the long jump.

WHAT A WEEKEND!

Dominion spiral on Saturday night. 8 riders. A left spiral, 10 levels, 5 complete turns. Steep. Fast. Old pavement. We got kicked out after 7 runs, which is not too bad considering the reputation of Ottawa police. We had the best kick around in a long time, there were probably 20 of us by then, we just created the Ottawa board meeting. ASRA Admin Day of the Jacko

Jackson Shapiera took out his third Conehead Cup race of 2008 at the Pump Station on Saturday while arch-rival Steve Daddow took second. Haggy Strom returned from injury to take third place.

Montreal Annual Push Race and Mac Attack

The first Montreal Annual Push Race was on Saturday 18th. It was probably about 12°C outside, quite cold.
