yeh its obvious u need both,but there are crazy mofos out there with plenty courage but no skill...mostly skill i recon...anything looks gnarly when u dont kno how to do it,but once u kno how to do somthin it doesnt seem that bad.....

i would say balls is more important cause skill can be developed but balls stays the same so i would go 65% balls 35% skill

you have to be ballsy to start doing it and make it seem like a good idea to ride a skate board down a hill at 70kms an hour, after you have the balls to make going that fast seem like an idea is skill and just something your borne with if you ask me, there are guys who are just naturally fast out there who no matter how shitty their tuck is or their gear is they are always going to be alot faster then just about everyone else ( eg for the melb guys-juan) to me its about 33% balls, 33% skill and the other 34% is something your borne with and you cant obtain no matter how much you try

i would say skill because the guy with all balls would have wiped himself out on the first real hill he bombed..the skill could be divided though into 50%knowing your limitations and 50%riding skill ...it is so easy for young dudes with balls to chop themselves up in this sport there isnt a lot of room for error.I remember getting my first real downhill board and taking it to a hill nearby which is an 80k dipper i remember standing at the top thinking fuck yeah i can do this shit i had pads and a pro tec helmet on the hill falls away to the left and it is mega busy you have to stay in your lane.I didnt bomb it that was 2 years ago only rode it about a month ago and man i am so glad i didnt ride that hill i doubt if i would be here today to me speedboarding is a calculated risk
