I have a friend or two looking for a cheap first first board. Would anyone know how one of these ride? they're going for 130 + 15 on ebay. I'm thinking for a complete, you can't really complain.
for $130 and its your first longboard you cant go wrong. i say go for it. sure its a piece of shit but hey are you looking to spend $300 and upwards for really epic quality or do you just want that cheap first one...
hey man i wouldnt get it i bought a cheapish board for my first but ive already out skilled it youll learn fast go get some thing a bit more expensive. youll probably regret it if you just get the cheapie just my inexperienced advice
yeh, there is a company called moosedown or something, and they make the blank vault decks, and sell them to vault, and obviously Psycho. my friend got one as his first board, it was ok, but pretty terrible compared to a dervish or any other good board.
Moose boards always seem to be deformed one way or another, plus they are weak design's and construction.
Not to mention their components are of the lowest skate quality.
If your mates are looking for a good cheap board, I'm selling my new sector9 carbon trylam
It's quality,4 ply hard rock canadian maple, carbon fibre stringers sandwiching the maple and fibreglass over it all, I'm not looking for too much either, just get your friends to make an offer?
Hey Ben,
Build him one up, get him some randall's, 2nd hand wheels (theres plenty around)
and i've got a Urban pintail deck (cheap) same one as Ellery? rides.
If cashola is a problem, buy the vault setup. Thats insanely cheap. Spend an extra 30 bucks on top shelf bushes from any of the suppliers on the right of screen. It will make a huge difference to you ride. Once you decide you wanna upgrade you will appreciate the extra $$ spent on a quality rig. No point saving with nothing to ride.
thing is, i'm helping out someone whos never ridden before and doesn't have money to spend on something "new" like this. so spending on a first board was out of the question.
to clarify, i have told him second hand gear is the way to go. we'll see what he decides to get at the end of the day. Also, he mainly wants to use it for commuting, so there isn't a great "need" for the good stuff. I started on a vault deck myself, and that is some gnarly shit. haha..
guess he sees buying higher-end gear as an unnecessary expense. guess he doesn't know buying boards is addictive, yet!
funny thing is, noone mentioned how the psycho drop rides! haha.. if he gets it, i guess i'll post an answer to my own question.
