bigzigs work better for me than stims for sliding!?

hey,

i have a tan tien with 70mm 86a stims.. the other night i borrowed some 75mm bigzigs with a much softer duro (78?) and put them on my board.. i found them a lot better for sliding.. the transition was smoother in and out of the slide and it was more controllable.. has anyone else found this?

i find that stims vibrate and grind me to a halt, where on the other wheels it was a smoother transition in and out of the slide.. unfortunately the 75mm wheels have the risk of wheelbite on the tan tien so im back to the stims..

perhaps the stims just are not worn in properly yet?

anyway food for thought for anyone considering one or the other..

Probably not worn innyet. I dunno I've never owned stims
spacers and rings on your wheels? and are they cranked down tight?
I was riding Pauls board the other day, and it certainly vibrated and ground to a halt.

The wheels however are not yet worn in or coned in anyway.
zigs are smoother then stims??
dude wen you borrowed the zigs, if the guy thrashes them, then yea they'll slide, not better then stims but.
so instead of riding the zigs, start carving hard into fast slides and by then you'll be on ice.
as ash said, get spacers and speed rings, and then crank the nut down, it looks like it doesnt spin as good, but it wont matter at speed, and the slides are soooooo much smoother,
my mates stims are down to about 55mm and the slide is incredible!!!
mate i love big zigs for free riding.. pinks on the back greens up front and your laughing
are u high?
mabey hit up the setup that sean meaney said if ur keen to grip on ice. not freeriding bro!!
no...... I have run alot of wheels for freeriding and personally that combo is whats working for me, they are pretty old wheels and they just do exactly what i want them to do when i want them to do it

that shouldn't happen :S

maybe cranking too hard? haha
mate its all personal, I can freeride my old zigs because they develop a lack of grip after being thrashed for a while, each to their own

on crack by the sound of it...
the zigs may have a more defined breaking point than the stims but the slide is still chattery as shit if your not hauling ass. break those stims in and you will be a happy, happy man.
