Want to build your own board, cheap press for sale to good home!

hey guys,

 

Anyone in the Canberra/ACT area, ever fancied building your own board?

 

I make my own decks, however I'm moving away from ACT and therefore have a press which is no longer needed here.

It's a typical mdf board/rib/threaded-rod press set up, currently ribs are set for a standard pintail board. (see attached pics)

 

Moving away in about 10 days time (from this post).

$30 all in (o.n.o.) plus i'll throw in a sheet of 4mm hoop pine (1200x600) which would be enough to make a little cruiser or slalom deck.

I'll even throw in a jigsaw and some clamps to help with cutting and making your board.

 

This needs to shift before i go, and i'd hate to see it go to the dump when i know it could start someone out on making their own decks.

 

I've no car, so it'll need to be pick-up only i'm afraid.  I'm based in O'Connor area.

That press is for camber and concave not rocker but you probably could mod it to press rocker and concave or anything at all for that matter. Nice press, I like how the ribs are running longitudinally

yeah guys, it's dead easy to modify, the central ribs are mounted on batons and can be screwed out and replaced, as noticed these ribs are set for a general concave and camber for a classic pintail type of board, but you could end up just making a couple of sets of ribs that you can just screw in and out to the main press flats to give you a range of homebuild options.

I'll upload another pic or two of ones i've built before, one half done.

*Jason* - i'm actually moving down to Melbourne myself on teh 1st March, hence the selling, if i cant get rid of it up here I'll bring it down for you if you'd be interested?

well jason, if it comes to that then no worries.

however i do want to try and get cleared of it before i have to move as i'm crashing with friends for the first month,
so any takers in the ACT/NSW area?.....come check it out and get in touch

hey michael,

i'm at work so dont have precise measurements to hand, but i'd be fairly close with an estimate of about 1250mm long, about 400mm wide and probably 450/500mm high.

it could always be taken apart and take the threaded rod out so that it's not as high and easier to manage if it's too big as 1 unit.
what do you think?
