Had a mad wiggle with Matty L today, need to get an event on up in QLD to help expand the sport of slalom.

I think that's O-tang wheels in general. Great for the first day of riding then deteriorate and wear out quick.

Retro Zigs are still my number 1 slalom choice. Love em.

Anyone tried 78a Mini Hawgs for slalom?

Oh and I also tried those 86a InHeats on my other board and they are fast and grippy until they wear in then you have no chance.

Not sure what the deal is with the offset front. I guess it would be like using an original splitfire or an airflow as a front truck, which I've never seen. Having the axle in line with the kingpin is an advantage in the rear and with reverse kingpin fronts. I'm not sure if this is an advantage with conventional kingpin front trucks. I guess bringing the axle back to the kingpin would slow the rate of turn and increase stability?

actually just thinking about that they would both be rears but one would be a bit more turny right?

hey just got the new concrete wave in the mail and it looks like tracker are doing another production run of the rts/x offsets if anyone is interested. $120 a truck though so it ain't cheap but at least you will be an individual.... i'm thinking the rear would work similar to an airflow but can anyone explain the point behind the offset front truck?

Sutherland was great with the weather just holding off for about 15 or so riders ranging from slalom techheads to groms on downhill gear. The surface was super smooth and the traditional blood sacrafice to the gods of slalom was made by a couple of lucky souls (the surface even created smooth wounds!).

The word is this will likely be a GS event for the conehead cup in 2011. Bugs was initially setting a loose open course with a slowish top section and a faster lower section with huge side to side "sweepers". He gradually tightened up the course as the day went on creating more speed and interest at the bottom of the course still keeping some of the fun GS sweepers. Just about everyone was making the course even on longboards. Thanks to Mountain Mick for posting some photos.

Let's try and get this session going more often with a monthly session alternating between Sutherland, Allawah and Pumpstation, or anywhere else anyone can think of. Anyone want to call it for the 6th of March?

Sutherland has the best surface i have seen for slalom, i think ASRA needs a cycle club front to get councils to hotmix roads for us.... Thanks to all the crew who let me have a trial on their set-ups, so many nice trucks yet so little cash in the wallet!

would be stoked to see some Super Gs in melbourne this year, i have dusted off the cones a few times and run it out at fitzroy gardens at night and its a great spot, well lit, no hassle with anyone and the pavement is flawless with an uphill run off and a bunch of different slopes to use

The short answer is no. The longer answer is that the CHC is going to be radically different this year. Gonna check out Sutherland as a venue on Sunday. More info to come after that...
