demonseed vs evo

so the rents just asked me if i want a longboard for christmas. and as any other rider would proberly say i said yes, now for the hard part...

i already have a loaded dervish, but i am wanting to get into a bit of downhill, so i was thinking either a evo or a demonseed, what do you guys think is the best board to get,

i know a lot of you will probs say go out and ride them and then make a decision, but i just want a basic idea to start of.

is glyde even pressing any decks for sale before christmas? i would go with jacko on this one if you want a board that feels similar to your dervish but is capable of bombing a few hills here and there. plus its alot lighter than most downhill boards like a hellcat for carrying it around school and back up hills. or check out norfin boards for an aussie option, that manta board looks sweet as hell in my opinion and it is dropthrough mounted

if you just want to buy a DH board thats going to be in your quiver for a while and will still be solid in a few years time, go an evo with some 42 deg trucks and some big zigs, its a proven board, its going to be fun for bombing carparks and you going to enjoy the board mate

yea still a bit confused to what im gonna get :s think im gonna have to wait a couple more days then make up my mind

My opinion. If you're fresh to DH start out by buying bushes to suit first. You loaded has the ability to rip a hill or 2. If you saw the board and setup I first started out on you'd straight up shit your pants.
It's nice to expand your quiver so go with what Leigh said about buying a board to suit your size. It' makes a big difference.
6 ft and over = Demonseed but then again you get the exception to the rule like my man Mischo. 6'2" and destroys any hill on an Evo.
Evo's came out a while back now and these days there's a world of great decks on the market. Do your research, know what you want from the deck and if possible ride as many different decks as you can so you make the choice thats suits your riding and not just the image you wanna get by owning one.

how tall are u exactly cause that would help. also make the decission on wheather u want nose or tail wedgeing cause thats pretty significant, also if ya gonna use it for some freeride u should also check out a switch or nemesis

im about 6'1 or close to it.

i still have no idea, will have to go out with the mates this weekend for a big session and try all there boards out

i am 6'1 and the evo is a perfect fit for me, my front foot is fairly close to the front and my back foot leans on the rear drop

bra my advice to u is exactly the same as all the advice offered, ride what feels good for u. maybe try both the boards before making a decision. however the evo with its lowered platform and its wedged nose and dewedged tail, is quite simply put, the easiest board to sk8. i mean it makes everything super uber easy. u wanna cruise, it'll cruise. u wanna bomb, it'll bomb. u wanna slide and freeride it'll do that too. the only thing it wasn't neceserilly meant to do is to be ridden switch, although ive seen rippers revertin them so.....

you live in adelaide right? (says so on your profile) so that means you live in the land of some of the best hills in the country, so that means theres a big crew of dudes shredding these hills regularly, and im sure some of them have an epic quiver of board that they will definitely let you try out... get in touch with your local riders bro
