Out of all the cleaners turps has to be the worst for your health. Please do not use it and if you do please use gloves and do it in a well ventilated area!!! I was recommended kerosene by some other skaters as it leaves nice thin film.

Pleasure tools makes some great lube and its dirt cheap. http://www.edsbearings.com/ they also do good bearings and an apparently good cleaning product

yeah im not gona use the valve oil anymore but using sewing machine oil does make sense considering its made for spinning parts that heat up....and theres a spotlight right by my house....

get singer sewing machine oil, Ado swears it is the same as bones speed cream, and its like 3-4 bucks for 70-100 ml. Anyone else use it.

If you're cleaning with organic solvents (turps, kero etc) make damn sure you remove the bearing cage (the bit that holds the balls in place) if it's a removable plastic one. That should be cleaned with something far less aggressive. I…

I Used to play the trumpet, and from what i remember of valve lube, i would be very carefull. I dont think it will last long and or lubricate sufficiently, but give it a shot, just keep an eye on how warm they get.
