Hey guys,

I was looking at getting some dh trucks and the trucks Bear Grizzly's keep coming up. I was wondering if there are any advantages of getting the 10mm axle over the 8mm speed, traction etc. i was looking around the $100-$150 range any other truck recommendation welcome.

i find paris hangers much nicer than randals in aesthetics, cleaner cast and their bushing seat. The bushing seat is much more restrictive which is a big win for me. Force trucks ain't too bad either they were my first randal style truck and they worked well.
a set of force trucks that are on my flexdex got the corner of the baseplate snapped off :s

aren't force trucks prone to breaking easily? or have they fixed all those problems?
I think Louis Pilloni is using Paris with stock bushings. James Kelly is using Randal.
If you use paris, I would gets some barrel bushings in there. You tighten down a cone bushing and you could get some bushing blow out. Which means the bushing compresses unevenly and truck does not perform or worse becomes unpredictable.

trying not to clog up the forums, Would Paris 180's and their stock bushings be okay for dh if i tightened the them.
but would tall cone bushings still be okay on a non-dh setup?

Des broke his 35 degree Force baseplate. Too easy,.... and he is not hardcore at ALL!

For me the best downhill truck is Tracker Fastracks.
Unfortunately, not all decks like the fastracks dropped thru,.... Dre's Pagan was getting hanger bite.
Crails rock,... but suck if you want them dropped thru, you have to do some deck surgery to make them fit.
Gullwing Bombers dont seem very well finished,... the hanger pivot is the worst shape Ive ever seen on a truck. I also had to remove some casting off the axle so I could get wheels on.

Its a bit of a game of compromise.
It will still be ok to start off with Its just not the most ideal way to dial in the stability

Oh well, so much for the theory about Force 35 deg baseplates being strong.

Re the Fastracks, I have them dropped through, and I solved the hanger bite problem by making "hanger wells" - used some sandpaper to create grooves in the deck that fit the protruding hanger perfectly. One thing I don't like about the Fastrack is the way that the metal around the hole for the kingpin in the hanger is a bit thin - mine has gotten quite ovalized. But otherwise they're nice trucks.
hey how r u getting to the car park tonight in the city ??
Hey\
i was wondering if bear grizzly's or fast tracks will drop thru on a rayne hellcat
cheers
i have grizzlys dropped through on a hellcat, they fit fine
Grizzly has a very standard base plate and hanger so should drop through on anything. Tracker has a very wide support section of the hanger so is very prone to hanger bite when dropped through on any board. The tracker requires you to shave small sections off the underside of the deck next to the cutout hole to allow for full hanger turn
