Something happened to the HiRes pics on forum threads.
They used to scale down to size evenly.
Now they only fit to width kinda like those mirrors at luna park that make you look tall and skinny!

And I'm guessing DK's new FSU deck site aswell. It was badly out of proportion. I originally thought it was his fault for using a fisheye until I saw the pic I put up
Instead of scaling down the res before posting like i did with photobucket, ASRA site seemed to do it automatically. Now it's changed

bugs, have you considered restricting posting privelleges to paid up financial members of asra? or is that not in the "spirit" of the site?

I hadn't seriously considered it. And after about 30 seconds consideration it seems like it would be a quick way to kill the site - nobody wants to pay $$ to be able to post on a web site.
Perhaps there could be a "financial members only" section that could be restricted as you suggest, but I'm not sure what the point would be.
But I'm open to being convinced otherwise if you've got good arguments.
And Fitz, re the images being out of proportion - they're 100% OK in the two browsers I have installed here (Firefox and Konqueror, both in Linux). What browser are you using? Can somebody tell me if the problem exists in both Firefox and IE under Windows, and Firefox and Safari under Mac?

Everythings good on firefox, windows.
Everythings nearly good on IE, windows... the banner cuts into half of the orange in the options up the top (this took me a while to notice)
Tried to get you a picture, wasted 20min, sorry you will just have to take my word for it.

Yeah, I've seen the problem with the banner on IE. I've been meaning to fix it, but I don't have a Windows box handy to test with so it's hard.
Suggested workaround for IE users: use a different browser (eg. Firefox). I'd like to think that IE is history, or that Microsoft will fix it properly one of these days.

Love this site, of all the skate sites, Coast, silverfart, Olf, NeednotOllie etc. this one has the best lay out. super easy to use for loading pics and vids. and especially love the slide show at the top of the main page and the fact that it shows the most recent pics from everyone. Keep up the choice work guys.

Download IE8
IE8 has dealt their error and displays it properly just don't hit the compatibility button at the end of the navigation bar (this button was created for users to view sites that web creators had altered to take into account of IE7 errors and are now stuck with a wrongly configured site).
I'm not sure why its an issue for IE7 the pixels in the banner are measured exactly to fit, it seems to push the banner lower. The problem is simply an error in IE7 and if it were changed it would muck up every other browser that displays tables and spacing properly.
As bugs suggested download Firefox - using IE is like riding a goat down Maryhill or taking a knife to a gunfight, its slow and it leaves you exposed, its simply the wrong weapon to use.
