full face helmet..

i was wondering how heavy is too heavy for a full face i have an old motocross helemt i  used to use but its slightyl to small i found a pre rad motor bike helmet that was like 1.8kg  but when you look at charly's what not there like 650 g 
 so yeah i was also looking at the Icaro sky runner looks pre gnar .
any info will help

Shake your head around while wearing it.  If it feels like you are being thrown every which way by the weight it is too heavy.  1kg is a good weight, then anything under will start costing you the big bucks, but save your cash, you may break your full face, and it's better off being a cheaper one than forking out $300 each time.

 

Just find one that feels like it won't break your neck when knocked violently and it should be okay, you are the one wearing it, you have to find one that suits you.

check out Bell Drops and Rjay Missile 2's. They're cheapish (like $130) and are still pretty light (around 1kg)

yeah i have been look a bell drops cant seem to see where i can get one with face visor 

@tim yeah thanks for that .because the one that i  mentioned before that was 1.8 kg is from ebay for like 50 bucks or something so yeah ..

yeah um 950 grams , on the paghe it said 160 for shipping i was like what , nup thats wrong its like 35 for shipping 170 for the helmet

bell drops are a quality helmet at a good price, feel real safe in mine. worst thing is you cant get a visor for em so you have to make your own and they can end up looking real shitty if you dont do a good job. if you're not worried about a visor that flips up then you can make a decent fixed one easily, flipable ones are much harder to make.

 

if want to spend more money and are your looking for something lighter, more aero, flippable visor and most importantly one that looks shit hot then check out the predator or a charly.

Predator should not be classed the same as a Charly and I wouldn't recommend one. 

They have a very little amount of protection, but hey, they look super cool so they must be ok... 

If your going to spend that much on a helmet, get a predator, they are actually certified, aero, come with two visors, cost roughly the same as a charly, and will save your brain.

Charly is the most used helmet on the Worldcup circuit and is certified under European standards EN 966 for Airborne sports, its also German made which is obvious from the finish and refinement of the helmet. The predator is made in China and rated for bicycle and inline skating CPSC (there is no downhill skateboarding standard) as is any eps foam skid lid  or normal bicycle helmet sold in Australia. Most downhill fullface BMX helmets come in a standard much higher than the basic CPSC which is ASTM there is also an ASTM rating for aggressive inline and skateboard. There is nothing wrong with either of these helmets for downhill skateboading but its a misnomer to say it is rated for that, it would be better if they included more detail about the rating as in what variant. The problem with predator is they focus all their time trying to tell people in forums that only their helmet is safe and all other helmets are dangerous. It would be better for everybody if they spent that time actually manufacturing and supplying helmets so riders could use them. From what experience would you not recommend a charly?
