Which speed board should I get?

I'm $130 ish off enough for a complete Evo setup. Should I get the Evo or a different one?

BTW which trucks in the setup? And which wheels?

How tall are you? This makes a big difference. If you are over 6ft an Evo might not be the best choice.

I've heard very good reports about Omni's new DH lowered deck. If you're $130 bucks short of a complete evo you might be able to get an omni now!

People are so predictable. EVERYONE rides an evo dude. Get something different. Something you havent seen before and something that no-one else has. Get a kebbek! Or maybe the Chinook would suit you.

evo's are great, but when i think about it, the design made certain things difficult to learn on. i'd go with an all rounder to learn on. that way once you've perfected everything on that, you could switch to almost any style of board without any problems.
in terms of hardware go for; Randals, Bears or Crails for trucks - Orangatang InHeats for wheels - Venoms for bushings - and your basic Bones Reds for bearings.

if you can, ride a few different boards first- then decide.

give us some specs to work off:

-height
-weight
-stance
-perference
-riding style
-price range

bro the evo is a great board..just get some entry level trucks randals or bears with zigs or otangs..if your just starting out you will addapt to the gear no probs and u wont tell the differencet till you start thrashing..i started ridding the crappiest of gear and thought it was great..remember its 10 percent gear and 90 percent ridder..you dont need to get too tech man just get out and ride..see you on the hill
