sk8biz and extreme skates here in brisbane are just as bad with pricing, they would not allow us to leave flyers for newtons on the counter as it was not sponserd by them and promoted online retailers, good time surf in the gabba still has wild pricing but at least they were happy to leave a wad of flyers lying around.
what about this!!!!!!!

The shop rents in Manly are hideous. They have been trading for a very long time, so they would be careful with their margins, and more importantly what stock they get in to sell. Fast moving well priced stock, keeps them alive, but high priced slow moving stock can turn into a real big problem. This is probably why only the brave stock the high end stuff. And also why lots of other "skate-shops" look more like clothes stores.

It is natural for them to not want to be competing with online retailers, but not letting you put some Newton's flyers up, because of that is a bit lame. They should have worked out by now that not supporting Newtons wont magically make the online traders vanish, where as actually supporting Newtons (even in a tiny way like taking a few flyers) would give them an enhanced level of Radness, and certainly have stopped them being mentioned here.

Support the shops that support your sport, and buy local first.
