The Grom Bomb Splashdown

Hopkin Skate seems to be the local hangout for all the grom skaters these days, we have seen numbers rise dramaticly every month with more and more kids getting stoked on longboarding. Every school holidays the shop is jam packed with kids frothing on the skate gear, meeting up for sessions and just general stoke. There are so many kids around the Sydney area ready to shred these days it's not funny. Kam and myself have put together a few ride days in the past few…

Another Rad Week in Radelaide

Photo: Sanchez Gogh

For those of you who don't know, Adelaide is home to some of the raddest hills in Australia. The city itself is small, flat and quiet, but on the outskirts of the city it's not hard to find some gnarly, fast, windy hills that are now attracting downhill skateboarders from all over the country.

On the weekend of the 1st of October 2010, SAGRA (South Australian Gravity Racing Association) hosted… Click here for the full story

Voss - New Record for longboard

i saw this on the ExtremeSportVeko website...

Asphalt boarding has never been more popular. A total of eighty athletes wanted to compete in the longboard competition this year.

Unfortunately there were only 64 spots available. But the guys in their black leather suits were more than happy to see so many eager contestants. Cedric Cornell has been skating since he was eleven years old. Now he’s 43 and still… Click here for the full story

Radelaide - Home of the Raddest Hills in Oz

Jackson Shapiera:

The first time i visited adelaide was in 2008, i went down to check out the scene and ride some of the hills they had down there. What i did not expect to find was a landscape filled with so many hills of all different types, all quiet with barely any traffic and just begging to be painted with lines of urethane. There was so much potential for downhill skateboarding in this city that i made it my goal to keep… Click here for the full story

“Draggin Jeans at Newton’s Playground”

This little article got lost in internet land for some time but we finally dug it up:

The Killswitch

K-Rimes - KILL SWITCH

The Killswitch says it all. The brainchild of Kevin “K-Rimes” Reimer is finally out and ready to steal your time, your urethane, and your minds. With years of experience riding downhill and a sharp mind, Kevin has taken the time to think about each and every movement you make when riding downhill, and how a board could make those maneuvers easier through being positively “locked in”. Ergonomics were the name of the… Click here for the full story

We flew down to Albury, hired a car and began the drive down towards Mt Beauty and… Click here for the full story

Sydney City Bomb Squad's Cannonball Run

On Friday night, in the heart of the city of Sydney, the Sydney City Bomb Squad hosted the first annual Cannonball Run. This race is more of an 'urban assault', which consisted of pushing through busy streets and negotiation of the right line through packed traffic of not only pedestrians but also peak-hour traffic.
