“Draggin Jeans at Newton’s Playground”

This little article got lost in internet land for some time but we finally dug it up:

“Draggin Jeans at Newton’s Playground”

Draggin Jeans was proud to be a part of this year’s Newton’s Playground.

Invited to help resurrect the event by the guys at ASRA and Hopkins Skate, Draggin Jeans happily threw its support behind the downhill skaters of the future, sponsoring the Junior World Championship race.

Whilst the company has a long and respected history in the motorcycling world, Newton’s Playground 2009 was Draggin Jeans’ first serious foray into gravity sports. General Manager, Fiona Mackintosh admits she was somewhat unprepared for the speed and courage of these world class athletes.

“The speeds they were reaching through some of the tighter corners was amazing. They were hitting the famous Esses and The Dipper at speeds most V8 drivers would be jealous of. No wonder they’re seeking out our kind of protection.”

2009 has been a year of momentous change for the Australian company and 2010 is destined to be another year of growth and diversification. Fiona promises that the changes seen in 2009 represent only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the company’s vision for the future.

“This year we released the revolutionary Slix. We also drew on the amazing qualities of Dyneema® the world’s strongest fiber™ to be the first casual brand in the world to pass the CE tests for abrasion resistance. And now we have embraced the gravity sports market. Let’s just say that our sights are set even higher for 2010.”

Photos of all of the action at Newton’s Playground can be found in the Newton’s Playground Photo Album on the Draggin Jeans Fanpage at www.facebook.com/dragginjeansaustralia .

They doing gloves yet?
Turtleskin make all leather kevlar lined gloves already.
Draggin would have a market if they did velcro attached to them. Blow Loaded out of the market for sure.

Yeah just saw em then.
They're the full blown wooly style.
I'm pretty sure kevlar can be woven like a cloth rather than like mums homemade jumper.
Oneday perhaps.

The current gloves distort a bit too much too, doesn't really hold the puck to your palm well.
I'd love some of their shorts for casual stuff though, they'd save a bit of skin no doubt!
