look, pissed off when i made the comments, the 'groms' where bombing hard carparks with us on go longboarding day and had no real issues with the speed, alot of them are very very keen to race proper DH, this is a very light course but still challenges the guys who have some race experience (myself, juan ching, gilbert etc etc) its not just my race, its the start of a series, the only way i think that course that everyone is suggesting would be good is if we decided to do some sort of GS on the flat section of the track which could work. this weekend will tell and if on the day we see guys crashing alot in practice then we can change the track if needs be

while I technically should have zero say on the matter due to skill and i'll be unable to race (prior commitments for the long weekend) I kind of feel I should have some form of input.

Ching and Fendy are just trying to help, they want to see the sport take off and are trying to give you a helping hand in the right direction, Although some spills would make it more interesting, who would want to get into a sport where their first experience is one of sliding across the road losing skin because the line's too hard for a beginner. This is not my opinion so don't rage at me.

Sean, we all know that you've put a lot of work into this race, and i don't believe any of the things that have been said in here are having a go at you, they're just trying to make this event have the best chance of success possible, maybe you could try some of the runs they're talking about out on friday? you might find that you enjoy them more, if not, it's not really a big loss is it? you're skating friday anyway man.

and sean, you hit the first corner at a decent speed, go on the flat bit and then you take the right into a downhill personally, i think this course requires more skill. whoever takes the best line at the right hand (drifting that corner at full speed isnt something you can pick up in one go), has the best tuck to get through the flat and through the last turn will come up on top.

last i remember, someone ate shit at the first right corner during the last race. so dont worry you'll get to fall (seeing thats what you want) ;)

BUT like i said its your race its entirely up to you. just dont go dissing everyone who tries to give an opinion.

it's sean's race let him do what he wants to do. we can always organize something else after this. sean, i was under the impression that this race was going to be for beginners. but i guess this is more about making yourself look good.

this is not an official race and it's going to be alot of inexperienced riders hence alot of crashing and possibly injuries (if you're taking that run you planned). doesnt exactly show the best of this sport. in fact, the newbies might be deterred off dh if they have a pretty bad crash. last time i remembered, we had alot of fun doing the last race at flagstaff.

not everything is about doing the most dangerous thing there is and showing off you have balls. and sean stop being so hostile to everyone. so much for changing.

essentially, this is your race. we are just advising you. i've had experience planning a beginners race here and organizing events when i was in malaysia. i'll still show up and support it.

I say we race fitzroy. We do that bomb starting at the northwest side. Then we gotta turn left into that "bridge" section and then another left and continue straight to the finish line. Another good one would be starting at the same spot but go down along the west side of fitzy all the way till the end then there's a left turn at the bottom. Just throwing out ideas. Sean, last I checked, you've got no balls.

why aren't we at fitzroy then? haha

oscar, you hit one turn with abit of speed, after that it is about a single degree of slope before going into a left turn at about 10kms an hour, BIG WHOOP, its two turns at slow speeds, requires no foot breaking no predrifting no balls to commit to hitting the fast line. hitting a fast line that takes some balls and your on your toes the whole time is alot more interesting for me, i want to fall, i want to have to worry about fucking the turns up and hurting myself, fuck man up ride something narrow, fast and gnar'er where passing takes balls

You cruise pretty fast into that first turn sean, stop being so lame.
