If you take it easy and don't rush, it'll be a fun trip. You'll prob have to focus on town hopping all the way up. Also, it'll be more than 881 km w/o fwy.
isn't it raining tmrw sean?

ok here's a route that we can do. Starts from Carrum Station and ends at Noble Park Station. It's around 100km. Mostly bike roads. If you can do this in a day and still feel fine the following day, you're good to go. I still think 100km/day is not feasible if ur planning on doing it everyday for a month. Even everyday for 1/2 a month will be pretty harsh on your body.

Fendy that sounds dope. I live in Pascoe Vale, near the Bell St tulla on ramp, at the end of the 55 tram. so I can get into the city no worries

I'm up for helping you train. I don't think i'll be able to do it this coming summer. Where in Melbourne do u live? I've got a 70km route mapped out for myself around Melbourne. I can tweak it a bit and we can do it every weekend or something before summer.

i would be keen to do albury and back before i did it to sydney, also its only 250 km or so, which is viable in a few days the way i look at it, i would be very very keen to do a big push trip

I'm looking to do it in spring/summer, not sure when for certain, weather wise it'll be better. Self-supported trip, plenty of towns along the way, to restock if need be. Max I have done skating is 35km 100% pushing from the city to Broad Medows and back. I was heavy into stamina training for running a marathon last year but gave up because the I was too young to enter. Like I was at the stage of comfortably runing 25km w/o water. Im thinking more like 100km a day. It's some 881km from CBD to CBD and traveling there will be better days than others(distance wise). I like a challange. And with the right pre-training it'll be easier on the legs, also being able to push with both legs. The reason I want to try and avoid freeways is there is alot of freight traffic from syd to melb.
