ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Im building a board and just seeing what the average preferance is. i dont think i know what i like yet as i havent really tried out many boards, but i think im more inclined to go steep. however as my last attempt turned out to have 1 1/4 inches i know i have to aim down. the middle of your foot doesnt even touch the board.

Does anyone know what the standard concave is on most boards, i know the 09 avengers about 1.5cm , but it has a pleasure dome.

suggestions?

I like deep tub concave
Like my drop-wedge
make 1 like the front of the avenger... it feels pretty good and holds my feet in, in switch slides
Most people like about that 12 - 15mm. Some people like more some less but if you aim for that you will be in the ballpark.
1/2 to 3/4" is pretty typical for downhill/freeride boards
go convex instead of concave... be different
next time i make a board i'm just going to drill some trucks into a draw... have a [ concave
Convex actually makes sense. Gives you more of an angle to push against on the rail that you're pressuring, and makes it harder for your foot to slip off. Slalom boards used to be convex.
barefoot beach cruisers are often slightly convex too
noncave
whats convex?
i have been talking about this crazy idea of a 'pleasure dimple' convexed board, imagine how a board with 9-dome feels now, now imagine if you had the exact oppisite to that feeling under your feet, you would have a pocket in the middle of the deck to dig your foot into and some massive gas peddles to push against during slides, i mean i would keep your traditinoal tub cave up front but imagine how good that would be under your back foot
The opposite of concave.
