ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hey guys,

I have pretty much already decided that I want to buy a lanyacthz evo, however I am still unsure about what bushing I should roll with. I'm around 70kg and 180cm's and while I am buying the board for more serious downhill purposes, I would still like the board to retain a little bit of carving.

Whatever you probably cant give me an exact answer but if you could list the bushing and how it performs on the evo (or similar) that would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Alex

get the bushings that YOU want to get, try not to clog up the forums
i'm about 65 and a little bit shorter atm i've got some red/green top/bottom venom DH and they work fine, buy a bunch of bushings and mix and match till u got wat u like
Red DH venoms all round.
It'll depend a lot on the trucks you mount on it.

But the main thing is that bushings are cheap, and changing them takes about 2 minutes, so you might as well get a few different hardnesses and change 'em around depending on the type of riding you're planning on doing that day.
buy yourself the Khiro Barrel bush set. It's the ultimate introduction to "what bushes should I use". There's no better way of finding out like trying them all. Don't settle for conicals. You need barrels. Khiro are cheaper than venom or reflex. Once you know what you like aim for the duro you want in the better quality.
If you can't afford a full set, just get 2 barrels of 85a, 90a, 95a.
Dan... take your own advice... anyway this guys asking about what feels he can get with different duro, shapes and brands to suit his weight, deck and discipline - much more detailed than your "What board should I get" and other such threads.

Anyway I'd just go with some cheap Khiro Barrels, 90A bottom and 85A top.
That seems to me as a nice responsive but stable setup.
Possibly put it up to 90A-95A thought I'm pretty sure 90-85 will hold.

stock JimZ white/white 82.5a at the front, Black/white 85a/82.5a at the back.

Venom barrels green/green 90a all round and as bugs said it depends what trucks you use
Pumpkin bushings - a big fat uerthane designed for grizzlys but work on everything. They have specific top and bottom bushing - the top bushing has a notch for the hanger so the bushing sit flush without modification

Venom bushings - amazing rebound - the green downhills are the most common for speed - and combo colours and shapes for everthing else. I put red cones on my paris trucks on my hustler and it just came alive. I been buying venoms since zak was pouring in his bedroom. The talk of their demise is incorrect, they are in production - we have heaps on the way, all will be in stock very shortly.

JimZ bushings - jimZ does not know how to make a bad product - nuff said

Khiro bushings - the original bushing upgrade - barrels are the ones you want for most longboarding and downhill

Tracker bushings - these are under rated - sk8kings use them on their truck mods - the stim3 is a huge glob of urethane goodness, use if your kingpin can handle it.

Reflex - from the creative juice of Mr Chaput. I have heard good things, have not used them yet but will will have them in stock soon.

cracked - some skaters live on a different level. Some skaters look at a road or terrain and work out ways to skate it. Other skaters look at skate hardware and come up with ways to modify it. Fitz is the Australian mad scientist of mods and he has worked his charm on stim3 to create a downhill bushing that might make you cry in delight....and they're good on your longboard trucks too.

Guess who dont sue - I have heard a new bushing is on its way, and it will rock ya trucks off!!! No chocolate milk that week kids, we'll be spending it on bushings :-)
And I only think Ado has reflex at the moment, so if you want them call him before he runs out - see cr8tive ad to right.
That should cover the info your after
