in a post i read someone made a jo9ke about carbon fibre your bearings ,
so ,,,, whos the pro on carbon fibre , could ya would ya should ya make em ? or can it be done , a soild carbon fiber race and bearing ? just wonderin !!

lol....no. Maybe introduce some carbon nanotubes into the bearings. They will definitely make them stronger...but what's the point?
carbon fibre is used to increase strength and reduce weight, unlike ceramic it does not reduce friction. What are you going to gain by reducing the weight of your bearings. The question you need to ask yourself is have you gone as fast as you can go on regular bearings yet? if so maybe you need to try some new hills.
One of the conundrums of racing. Bearings are not big. Most skaters use standard bearings, not even ceramic.
There is a lot of other factors that come into play before maxing out your bearings.
If there are more speed check events like Brazil, skaters might tech out more on bearings.
The other factor is longboarders trash bearings. They ride on roads, ditches, footpaths not in a nice clean spray painted skatepark. Longboarders will skate and slide in the rain. No one wants to fork out $200 for a new set of bearings, and if you did you would be spending your nights cleaning them, instead of posting on ASRA.

Buy reds - skate em - trash em - chuck em (or give to b-rad) - (repeat)
carbon bearings would turn themselves to carbon dust real quick, they only way the could made would be from a carbon graphite and they would just plain suck, that would be why it was joked about.
You could glue carbon to the outide of the shield. This seems to be popular with "Fast" cars on tacho faces and dash boards.
Steel has carbon graphite in it already. This is what gives the iron base it's strength.
yeah that would work great, but lets do a full carbon setup, a full carbon deck, carbon trucks, carbon axles, carbon wheels, carbon slide pucks, a full carbon race suite so your like a knight in carbon armour, carbon slide golves too, damn you would be weightless and uber hard
i always wondered if it were possible to use magnetic levitation to create a bearing that has no friction whatsoever. you know, similar to that of Maglev Trains. probably a bit of an overkill for something thats not really needed, but would be cool to know if it were possible.
wouldn't that need an electromagnet? it would be pretty badass and the charge might even repel dust out of them. im not sure if even fitz could make these though.....
Jury is still out on mixing people with strong electromagnetic radiation.
Look what happend to poor old Michael J Fox.
Couple of turns around Hill Valley town square on his hover skatey, and he scores parkinsons!
i was gonna mention that but thought it was in poor taste.... touche my friend haha
haha yeah true , i clean and post lols , cause im workin so much most of my skating is commuting , and with the good old super swiss 6's i avoiid the rain when running them , i know they are not the best but i find em pretty good , i guess the bones reds would be ok for a free ride downhill but for commuting they suck when compared to the super swiss 6's (guess im stating the obvious?).
this whole post was yeah i bit of a joke , im seeing most people got that ....
p.s. i got some of that foot brake rubber of ya site but i think i fucked up , it said 20$ for soles , but i only got one , im a duchbag i guess lols, just thought soles ( plural ) meant 2 , ah well , guess ill order another cheers

GrassHopper,
Confusion say........

Unless you've mastered the art of 2 foot braking you will only require one brake sole.

Post up a vid of your standup 2 foot braking technique when you find zen.
