Event Description

Single lane jam-format Giant slalom at the Pump Station
The course is set on the mellow side of the Pump Station road, albeit on the steepest part, from the camp site down to the bottom. It's approximately 300 metres long, and has just about everything; tight pumpy sections, big offsets at speed, some big sweeping turns, and some tight stingers at speed.

What time?
Practice and registration: 10am - 12pm
Rider's meting: 12pm
Racing: 12.05pm until everybody has had six timed runs (approximately three hours)

Where is it?
Pump Station, Blue Mountains, NSW

Parking
Please do not block the road closure gate. Also take care not to block any driveways or park in a way that might piss off any local residents etc. This might mean that you have to park a few hundred metres away and walk for a bit.

Other Stuff
* The location is a little remote - there are no nearby shops or facilities of any kind, so be prepared.
* Bring lots of water to drink.
* We will have a pit-toilet on-site.
* Do NOT skate the steep side of the hill as you will be colliding with people skating the opposite direction on a narow road when you are both at maximum speed.
* Please leave the place as clean as you found it.
* Skate fast!

Race Details/Rules

Start
Your time automatically starts when your wheels cross the start line. Wait for the OK from the TimeKeeper before starting.

Finish
Your time automatically ends when your wheels cross the finish line.

Cone penalties
A 0.2 second penalty is added to your time for every cone you hit. For a cone to be "hit" it must either be knocked over, or, if standing up, be wholly outside the chalk circle that marks its proper position.

If you hit a cone and that cone rolls away and hits other cones, all hit cones are counted as part of your penalty.

If a cone is "out"
If you are racing on the course and you notice that a cone is not properly positioned, immediately pull out of the course and tell the TimeKeper or Cone Marshall that there is a cone out. If you finish the course it indicates your acceptance of the integrity of the course.

If you pull out of the course and a subsequent inspection reveals that there wasn't a cone out, your run will be marked as a DQ.

Jam Format
Each racer will get six timed runs through the course (time & weather permitting). Only your fastest time counts in the overall placings.

Nah, just seeing if anybody's paying attention.
But the race is still happening, less than 48 hours away...

Due to the destruction of the ASRA Club House in the recent fires, the After-Party has sadly been cancelled.

However there'll be a trophy presentation and traditional popping of the Champagne at the Pump Station directly after the race.

Is there an approximate address for this place?
Are there any camping spots near by?
