Is this a long weekend in Melbourne too? Is the ditch locked in for Friday night because you might get more interstate skaters at some other time during the weekend.

Im comin down now (was a bit iffy for a while) Im up and down the coast at the moment with work so very out of the loop...if anyone is doin a group booking somewhere can you keep me in mind?? The rent a wreck thing worked well last time too? That Melton spillway looks like an adventure worth taking.

Budget accomodation ideas.

Check out the Hostels in St Kilda.
....midway between Springy and Melton.
And not far from good entertainment at the Espy, and great food in Ackland St, and Luna Park (Yes, yes I know, but beers and the rotor were always good for a "laugh"). Also close the vintage bowls at Elwood.

Basebackpackers in StKilda is highly regarded, (5 star hostel)

There are also short stay apartments and hotels in the area.
(Haggy might even help you with backpacker translations!)

http://www.kingsgatehotel.com.au/ (2-3 star)
A budget hotel in town, and near the Casino, King St Nightclubs, Southbank, and the galleries, so you can go for an ArtSkate. Also check out Melbourne's laneways for some surprising little bars, graf, and stencil work and installations.

(Good multideck(16 levels with lift) carpark is close)

http://www.flagstaffinn.com.au/ (2star)
This one is near Vic Market, and Flagstaff Gardens (where we sometimes run longboards) There is a good food at the market, and a couple of good pubs nearby. The pubs on Spencer St also have plenty of parking.

Some of us might be able to drop you off after Springvale, and get you in the morning.

(as to staying out in the Burbs, it's ok if you need your beauty rest, but if you still have a pulse....DON'T!)

Might be an idea for visitors to try and stay near each other so you can share cars and be in walking distance to evening entertainment.
Once you get a preference sorted, we can do some research for a good spot to have an after Melton party at. (If we have any chance of a placing, we are going to need you to be all very hungover for Sunday!)
