and have been told to get a rayne hellcat; or when i mentioned i was in australia a glyde board. now i know everyone here says glyde is great and support and stuff but for a beginner that can swap between topmount and dropthrough which one would honestly be better. i know the hellcat is good and has the pleasure dome etc but everyone raves on about glyde here. so which is better?
i live in brisbane and at boardshop a hellcat is $265 and that happens to be the price of a GLYDE board. please help
definitly go for the glyde i ve had a go on a hellcat and the glyde drop deck and by far the glyde was beter and all so the glyde looks great and its an assuie made board
dude i own a glyde dropdown and it would have to be one of the best downhill boards i have stepped on. Massive platform and wicked concave for ease of steering when in your downhill stance.
Even tho i havent ridden the hellcat and its magic w concave i own a board with the w concave and for high speed slides an speed checks i wont recommend it but both ways they are decent boards and the money will be well spent.
as matty said you will be waiting a very long time for the glyde, pete must have pre orders coming out his ears by now. good to see so much buzz about aussie made gear though, keep it local!
i have a rayne hellcat and its a great board to learn on... a hellcat with durians seems to be a great combo because you can break into slides so effortlessly and the pleasure dome holds your foot in so awesomly but the glyde is extremely good looking and aussie made
i wasnt a big fan of the w concave on the hellcat, if you put the two next to each other u will proably find they are very similar in height, width, wheelbase and length. The biggest difference would be the wedging on the glyde compared to the flat hellcat.
