ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Alright, so I've been skating for about 5 or 6 months now on an el cheapo board I got from Big W (although it's uber customised now). I'm getting a good deck soonish, but I still can't decide which one to get.
My friends boards I've tried are: Rayne Hellcat, Rayne Demonseed, Landyachtz Evo, Omni Drop Speed (or something).

Earlier I WAS leaning toward a Rayne Nemesis but it put me off that it seemed to be just a smaller Demonseed. I really don't like the Demonseed. So if not a Nemesis I'll probably end up with an Evo.

Any comments etc. on Nemesis if anyone's tried it?
I'm into DH and freeride.

Thanks.

http://www.skateboardracing.org.au/forum/topics/how-do-these-boards... or check out the comparison of the nemesis and glyde: http://www.skateboardracing.org.au/forum/topics/nemesis-vs-glyde just search in the forums, those boards are really popular and there should be plenty of info
Thanks Boz.
Nemesis is the goods
Thanks Robbo. Care to elaborate?
i never liked the evo much for freeriding because it isn't symmetrical, and i never felt comfortable on its concave. the hellcat however would be my favourite if you had to chose one board to do it all, drop-through for easier initiation of slides and drifts, and low for stability.

i know someone with a dseed, and i think its a great dh deck, but a bit too long as i'm not that big of a guy. Which is why i think the nemy would be perfect, and i've heard lots of consensus that its awesome for freeriding as well.

or you could get the new rayne killswitch :D
In comparison to the demonseed the deck pan on the nemesis is wider all the way through and is turned up at both ends rather than turning up at the neck like the demonseed. It has a more aggressive and shorter neck which lets it reduce the deck length while maintaining a relatively long WB. It is also completely symmetrical unlike the demonseed. The half inch wider pan allows the nemesis to use a greater amount of concave at the edges which locks the front foot in without forcing you to stand on the concave. the only similarity between the boards is they both utilise a large deck pan, they are made of bamboo, and they are both made by Rayne
I've tried the Hellcat, it's good but I don't really feel comfortable on it.
Also, I noticed the Evo is a bit hard to slide too.
The Demonseed is way too long and too low if you drop mount it. My friend's deck bottoms out if you turn moderately.

I'm really liking the feedback about the Nemesis, thanks guys.
I was checking the Killswitch out earlier. Seems really good, I might look into it.
have u ridin a top mounted demonseed cause u cant compare a nemesis to one that is dropthru, i gotta nemesis myself and unless your taller then 6 foot the size shouldn't be an issue. the only problem i have with my board is that the trucks stick out past the board so u would wanna put a nose guard on it, appart from that it is excellent for any type of skating.
I have. It's retarded.
i got an omni and a evo and i love my omni drop 43' to death for freerideing its a fairly good dh deck, if its your first board get an omni as your going to smash it up abit, the omni will hold up anything your going to do dh wise for a while yet, personally i would set it up with randals and some powerballs, its what i ride on my one and its just perfect
lol another one.
It isn't going to be my first board, my current one is just terrible. I'm not going to smash a new one up. My friend got an Omni Drop and I hate it compared to my other friend's Evo. There's practically no concave, and being so low without a concave makes it fail at cornering.
