just practice doing them, the way i do check slides on my longboard is to push the whole board away from my body then as it grips up just suck it back under me, its a different slide to doing a 180, but thats just me
yeh its all in having your body weight in the right position, sounds like you might have to much weight over your board thru the slide,u may also be holding your weight to central ,try keeping your weight towards the front,to crack em out then....puttin a bit more then towards the back to get the back wheels biting and pullin you straight..practice,will get ya there...gettin pitched off occasionally is part the learning curve...specially with speedchecks...fast ones...that is
thanks
I had the same problem for ages man.
Remember to use the top half of your body, especially your shoulders and arms, to turn the slide in the direction you want to go.
Practice makes perfect.
