Nose guards
I've been riding my tan tien for about 6 months or so
and it has few straches and some cracks on both sides
so im wondering where i could buy nose guards or even how to make them??

Powell nosebones work, if you can find any...
You might have to trim it a bit though.
Otherwise you can easily make one. Search here and silverfish and there should be plenty of guides, using different methods. Foot brake sole, hose, metal, glue formed into a guard... There are infinite ways of doing it.

Hi Jeremy
My DIY noseguards (for skaters on a budget):
- for my pintail, which is thin, I used pinchweld hosing from ClarkRubber (available by the metre). Glued it on.
This stuff is brilliant as it has an in built gap maintained by steel shields, adding a raised layer of protection to your board. If your board is thin enough I suggest trying this, easy to handle and looks neat on the board. Cut between the steel C sections (you'll see what I mean)
- for my Kracked Skulls, I used these rubber toilet seals from the plumbing section of Bunnings. I cut the top off them and inserted it into the groove of the seal, resulting in 3 layers of rubber protection. Cable tied on. Not pretty but did the job.

I suggest taking your board to Clark Rubber first, they have heaps of things that could be adapted into noseguards. Then pick up the loo seals from Bunnings as a backup plan. I considered clear hose tubing from Bunnings too but the seals were cheaper and provided more rubber protection.

Ultra budget method.
Get some puck, or some chopping board. trace your nose and tail, cut the inside to fit over your board, trim the outside to a nice 10 or 12 mm, lovely and smooth and gaff it on.
Done in 10 minutes, looks awful, but polyethylene is very shok resistand and absorbant.

this would probably be most appropriate for you as you are riding a board with proper kicks so it can help with razor tail and all that crap

OMG Trav thankyou for the Sugru link. A DIY and reuser's dream product. Just bought 12 packs for $22 which will easily do my whole quiver, plus get me into Sugru hacking. Going to fix up my skate shoes with it too. Thanks!

i spend more than that on re-gluing that damn piece of rubber on the front of my board.!
