Pete.

thats out of line man

way out of line. im only new to this and even i know that glyde has contributed enormously to the sport. I could give you a 500 word reply and debate every point you made, but its not worthwhile. ask anyone on this thread about what they think of glyde and you arent going to get a single person giving negative feedback
Sweet dude, glad we can maturely voice our opinions on here, I love the sport, dont like the injuries, lol, but love the sport. Just taking the piss with the secret skate stuff but there are alot of guys here on the coast wanting to know more about the sport and when the next event is on...put on an outlaw dude, think of something original like Jamie did for his birthday, it got us publicity in the paper, the guys are going to be on channel seven news this week i think, there is a chance the sport could really motor on from here..having your own buisiness is hard and chasing money is annoying i have been there man but persist and you will win...I know and appreciate what you have done in the past dude, all I am saying is there is a better way to deal with the ways things are than going off about competitors, meanwhile there off getting stronger....a lot of 30 plus guys around surfers are very keen on the whole longboarding scene. Like i said i KNow nothing about glyde but everything about EARLY, they are in my face at every race meet im at, like i said dont take offense, it was constructive critisism mate and hopefully you can see it as that.
cheers and by the way Steve Daddows boards are fantastic to ride but Pete i never ridden a glyde yet so i will endeavour to do so, i am more than happy to buy a deck off you if it suits what i want, see my point.....Dude you have worked so hard to get the sport to where it is now so dont jump ship just yet..

your right dave, i should get off my arse and stop whinging and blaming everyone else, i should get involved more because in the past all i have done is take from the sport, as for secret skate business????? Wtf, if you wanna skate when we do get out of bed at four on a sunday morning and join in, we skate then cause thats when i/we have the time too because i spend the rest of my time sitting on my ass blaming everyone else and not putting any effort in.
...........
I just had my little speel to openly answer many of the question i get asked every week and so leigh would understand why a grom started a thread about a glyde instead of searching for an existing thread,
Anyone who half knows me would have taken my rant with little seriousness
Sorry guys, I just searched for the Glyde thread, I can't remember the exact name of it. Could someone tell me what happened with the dilligaf? i've rolled around on one and it's a really nice board, would someone care to explain?

I think we as a community need to help push our own gear more. I know that most guys here use silverfish a fair bit, why don't we all just start suggesting the Glyde boards to people, it will stir up some hype. After all, Rayne is completely word of mouth marketed I believe. If we're willing to buy boards from America and Canada, i'm sure they'd be willing to buy boards from Australia?
Trav i understand where you are coming from but you just made my point clearer, we have to get out in front of the overseas brands by pushing Aussie made stuff now especially with bathurst coming up and the publicity it will create, sorry if you found what i said upsetting but I am just telling it from where i see it. What pete wrote was negative and i responded because to be honest i know little about glyde or their boards but all about Daddows and Early because at the moment they have their gear out there, Steve is selling boards left right and centre because they are a nice board and the skate scene here on the gold coast is getting bigger so its all good from here. And I am fairly new to the sport so when i see a rant like that when their are people busting their balls here on the coast to get the sport known and make more events happen and companys like EXTREME MARBLE AND GRANITE get on board with trophies and sponsorship, i should be able to voice my opinion, new or not new to the sport..but also i appreciate and take on board everyones comments.

wow David, very hard to sit back and not comment on this. Especially when you basically start with - i'm only new to this sport but i think someone thats been involved in and supported it for many years has a poor attitude.....

you see Gylde appearing to be doing nothing but whinging now, but ever thought how it got to that point? I see the same thing with other local board brands. Groms see them, try them, love them say they are going to buy one, then go buy a Rayne; and lets face it groms are the main buying force behind this sport. At this very moment there is a thread on the new S9 race decks. Almost no one has seen them in person or even stood on them, but look at them lining up to get one. As soon as they hit an Aussie store, just watch drones of people come in and sell them out within a week, whilst a rad and proven board like the SD model sits on the shelf right next to it.

now tell us how would Aussie board makers compete with that if its 99.9% brand driven? splashing out a catalogue with a newsletter once a month? I think not.

Pete im only new to this sport, idont know you that well but i do think you are a very nice guy but on this occasion mate your rant from what i have seen and experienced so far is so far off the mark, and is such a piss poor attitude towards the sport, in the last few months long boarding has gone off its head on the coast, now is the time to capture the market, get your product out there and promote your gear. We are all creating a buzz by getting out there and skating, thats the key, getting big groups of guys out doing it, talking about it and actually making it happen....(the secret skate thing is childish and a very big negative for the new comers like myself). My group of mates and myself would love to support more Aussie Gear but due to a lack of education coming my way and a very defeatess attitude coming from your way it probably is only just going to get harder to get hold of.
Sorry if i have upset you dude but maybe try marketing to a different age group, think outside the square a little, get involved in the sport let people now about your product, i dont even know what a glyde looks like, maybe send emails to all the Asra members when you produce a catalouge...Basically get off your arse and stop blaming everyone else cause you cant sell boards....Rant Over

You do realise the Glyde Praxis is one of the Daddow boards?
hey dave, i'm not even gonna go there with you mate, you are obviously really not clued into anything but the last month or two, there has not been a problem selling boards, it goes deeper than that, as for trophies and sponsorship etc etc, like i said you havent been around for much more than a few weeks so your opinion is'nt really too important me. I've got a fun busy weekend ahead so i'm out this discussion and its pretty pointless continuing it. have fun.
Well from now on mate your opinion doesnt mean squat to me

WTF??
You guys should all relax and have a beer. :)
Dont get worked up,... its the internet.
dave your point is partly valid, but you really dont get how much pete goes through, as an independent seller he makes very very little money off of his boards.

Personally i think RobTech should delete this thread as it is causing a bit of angst, otherwise matty leadfoot has the idea down pact :D

except the majority of ASRA'ers are u18'ers these days :P
holy shitballs what are you on about aych.....pete has been sponsoring and supporting this scene long before you and most of us were even here..pete is one of the core few downhill ridders in oz form day 1....
he has sponosored me for the past 2 years and has given me endless numbers of boards money and more support then i could ever dreamed...
glyde sponsors every event that they can and made the trophies for batho last year if you wanna go there....do your reserch mate and stop ranting on the net about somthing you admit are very new too.....extreme marble are fukin ledgends and helped me out last year aswell..

so hey what about an idea where we all stop winging amoungst ouselves and put all our resources together and make a huge rad scene were we all just get along
FAAAARK YEEEAAAH, aussies are awesome riders!!!! and have awesome and have awesome engineering and manufacturing skills. so keep up the good work pete and how about we all get to work on a fucking massive ass hype machine that will make loaded look like a load of shite!!!!!!!!!

I am drunk at the moment too if that clears up my slightly hightened sence of euphoria.

so just chill guys, and lets all get to work on helping aussie product get out there.

more vids leeso!!!
When Pete gets the time to sort out a sweet webpage for Glyde, Daddow for his models, and Steve for Fat Pigeon.. and whoever else I cant think of who is making sexy boards at the moment - when they have webpages up, I'm more than prepared to get my spam on advertise the crap out of Aussie boards on silverfish.

Who's with me??
