ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

For those interested in a LDS(long distance skating) a few of us are keen on doing some serious distance skating. This discussion is being set up to be seperate from the main thread for distance stuff e.g training, tech., skates and also for those who fain interest in a skatetrek to Sydney (tba). This is more than your average commuting skate.

Im gonna start my training soon, work on pushing with both legs(with ease) and alot stamina work.
alex, when do you hit holidays? are you up for a 50km skate when you do, just to ease into training. just to give you guys an idea of what we will need to be able to do in a day and have good legs, we will need to be able to go from southern cross to the tip of the bay at portsea
also as a thought melbourne to gelong is very viable as training as its roughly 100km and you can avoid freeways, there is also fairly regular consistant trains from gelong to southerncross.
Just skating along the bay is not good enough... It's all flat. If you want real training, you gotta also cover areas that vary in altitude.
Sean, im on holidays after this week but i'll be away for a week, not sure when.

Fendy, I completely agree, when are you back?
fendy, you know what my level of fitness is like, i am going to have to ease into it, eventually i am going to have to be able to skate up mount dandy from my house in a day but 50km round trip for our first training ride is not too bad
