how to get griptape adhesive off???
hey ive gone and taken my griptape off but theres this nice sticky layer of glue left on my deck...
ive tried eucalyptus oil cos someone said it takes it off in an older post,,,
but it doesn seem to have any effect whatsoever,
i dont know if it helps, but i think it was hardcore griptape... the really chunky stuff...

get some acetone from bunnings.
its about $10 for a 500ml tin.
it's what nail polish remover is made from.
this stuff is fine on the white side of the deck but will almost instantly strip any artwork off. too much can melt plastic also.
wet a rag with some and wipe the glue off.
it evaporates extremely quickly so keep the lid on as much as possible. its expensive just to let it dry away.
don't bother using gloves, they will melt.
will not harm your skin but don't expose yourself to it too much.

na, im gonna sand off the white top and put clear grip on so that you can see the stringers and bamboo

i really think you are crazy sanding it back and messing with the structure of the avenger. you have to much potential to wreck a board. just to see bamboo??? i don't get it.
not being harsh just practical. cut it back but don't sand it.

ive sanded about half the board, the white is just in the top layer of the epoxy, havent gone into the glass at all YET...
i really dont think that it will mess with the structure at all after today..
but i may be proven wrong...

put a sheet of bamboo laminate down b4 your clear griptape if you really wanna see it lols
