ok im gonna start off by saying i have thought about this psot and can see no reason to get an onslaught of sarcastic and offensive comments from jacko or others who know more than me :-D
ok so i want to get an idea about trucks for going fast.
heres what i think the foodchain looks like:
to start im going to put these at the top because i know not much about them and dont know where to put them but that mischo rides em and he jtus won the world series ------------->
trucks with uber wierd and hyped up designs : fyres and the new elusive bear trucks. ignor this categorie for now i just put it in because i had heard of them
->
Precision trucks: kahalani, magun, smokies etc.
->
DH cast trucks(im not really sure about these): crail.. any others?
->
Wide hangar rev kingpin (possibly the same as those above?): randal paris bear gullwing 180s paris 195 etc.
->
super wide normal style trucks like indy 215 and tracker 219 or whatever they are claled
-->
nothing else is used for downhill?
ok so if/when i get a downhill/fast freeride board i know that precisions are out of my price ranger and i like reverse kingpin so i will be looking at DH specific cast trucks and standard rev kingpin trucks.
what i have no idea about is baseplates
i get that the higher the angle, the more turn you will get e.g. 90 degree would just be wierd and 0 degree probably woudlnt turn that much at all.
i think that 50 degree is the standard for most carving trucks but that randal do heaps of baseplates and bears can be flipped or something?
whats up with different baseplate combos? like i see pepople say Hellcat/randal 50/42 and wheels
what does that mean
also what are prandals?
appreciate anyone who responds :-)
