Hey Alex, Hope you can make it up next weekend. I've put a few more details up about the course on the events page for the Fast 50.

Even though it's a race. It's a single lane course, so your sort of racing the clock & yourself, trying to improve your time each run.

It's a great way to get a feel for racing & build your confidence. You likely start fun little rivalries with riders of similar ability & push yourself that little extra.

Cheers.

Guff, I live in Sydney city - Surry Hills area. About 2 minutes from Central station.

Thanks for the links Mark, I'm going to try and come to PC's fast 50th Slalom next weekend but I'm keen to have jam for fun, not in a race situation, most of the buddies I've made here are into downhill/sliding and I want to experiment in a new discipline

So when is (if there will be) the next Church of Slalom or slalom event in Sydney. Had so much fun back in May, keen for another shot at slalom. If not is there anybody round Sydney who wants to help me get my wriggle on someday?

We have council approval for a road closure from 9 am till 3 pm. We ate gunna start the day with slalom, have a little slide jam in the middle. And then finals at the end.
Fairly mellow slope, nice road surface.
I building two identical starter ramps -1200 high with plans I got from one of bugs posts from way back.
Side by side head ti head racing.
Repercharge format, so at least two race runs.
Going to spread the cones out a little bit to let the groms use their longboards, so kinda giant slalom.
It's October 1st
It's in conjunction with the Caloundra music festival. So if you want to come try to get tickets to the music festival aswell.
Sun,music, sand, slide and Slalom.

When I said well received, it went on to a further event opportunity with youth services, and talk of closing a road for a much bigger event.
It is also a great opportunity to promote ASRA.

Good one Adam.
The Upwey billy cart thing was well received.
With the hill we had We did not need start ramps or timer, as it was really a display event.
Make sure that you get in with the council as quick as you can.
You will need to think about safe run-out area, and slippery pavement risks.
At Upwey the cone spacing was about 7 metres + or - 1 metre, and long boarders and short boarders could run it. Make sure you have a plastic class, little kids love it, and their parents dig it also. It really helps with growing the sport.

If you haven't already, talk to PC about slalom ramp design spec/drawings.

He builds the best ramps ever!
