In Brisbane for a short stay anyone wanting to meet for weekday morning slalom session near Windsor?
The Zig Zags were used by a few with no trouble, they just work, always.
the wide wheels at the back work a treat if you have a fair bit of side load as in a coarse with a lot of offset but they are harder work for tight slalom. I think for G.S and/or rougher surface the wider wheels feel safe more stable and still fast. They were the most successful and popular for banked slalom (front and rear) in Canberra. I think after Dave Miller did a few runs at Canberra he probably felt the weren't nimble enough. It was a fun to have a tight coarse this year for a change.
Hey Dan, re wider wheels, Have you found them any good? I noticed Dave Miller was trying out some new wider wheels at Canberra, but he swapped back after a run or two. Even though they are older tech maybe, I can't go past my retro Zig Zags, rear set are beautifully coned and buffed and always grip.
