Budget solution.
If you have a 35 deg randal plate or equiv' you can buy a 125 randal hanger from boardshop and that will take care of you back truck. Use your hardest barrel bushes and crank it down tight.
Make me an offer for my 4.1" Bennet truck and there's you front sorted. PM me if you're interested.
So long as your deck is flat without kicks where the trucks mount you won't require any wedges.
Start with at least a 20-21" WB
65-70mm wheels with sq lip.
Wuggle is how the Kiwi's do it :)
WIIGGLE ON!!!!!!!! oops
Anyone got a set of slalom trucks they are not using.
Could you let me know what they are and what they are worth to ya or i would trade for a new set of 50 degree calibers.
i am making the deck now i want the trucks to GET MY WUG
Cheers Fitz, I'll give it a go.
What are the chances of a 101 cone challenge at Newton's this year?
My guess is that it needs someone to collect $1 or $2 per run, and log the times, and a spare bit of track, say Mountain Straight, between the bus drop off and the pit area.
Cones are not a heavy as bales, and it could be a bit of fun for everyone.
I forgot to add that after our days riding hey was getting clean runs, when to start off neither of us could even make it through more than 5 cones on his initial setup.
Hey Cas,
You can make either truck dead by locking it down with rock hard bushes.
Joe Eagle went for a spontaneous cone session today. He hasn't ridden slalom in nearly 4yrs.
He had 139mm IndeeSZ front and back and initially it was suicidally turny.
I dialed in his rig with some bushes out of my personal stash and it tranformed the whole setup.
My advice is you have both, try em as a rear truck but lock them up with hard bushes. It's much easier than trying to dewedge a truck.
Randals are great as a rear but unless the axle is centreset your wheelbase will shorten up making your rig lose a slight amount of stability.
I have just modded a randal 150 down to 104mm and I have been running it at 56* as a front truck with a tracker rts dewedged 7* on back. This set up feels pretty good to me but I know nothing about slalom. Would I get more traction from having a completely dead randal in back rather than an rts?
Trackers are good value and work fine for a rear truck. If you have Randalls or compatible randall stuff for you downhill and free ride board you might prefer to use a narrow Randal hanger for a rear. You can then avoid some wedging by just using lower angle baseplates, plus you can switch around with your downhill stuff.
Then if you need to you can narrow the width further by just turning your offset wheels around the other way.
