I am getting into sliding and im finding that riding my glyde backwards down a hill is dodgy...

I was wondering what qualities a board needs to excell from others at sliding. I know that symmetrical boards seem to be the go.

Anything else?

Cheers

learn to slide it back to regular
Practice going goofy/natural which ever is your opposite stance.
the only thing a board need to excel at things like that is a rider with PRACTICE...
No boards are better than others, its all about the person controlling the thing. Just learn to ride your board backwards and you will be sweet. If your just getting into it then every board is going to be dodgy backwards, the only way it will feel easier is once you figure out how to do it.

so the answer is: GO OUT AND SKATE
i can slide my board well but i decided against using it as a carpark and sliding board when its ultimately my DH board, therefore i want the next board to have more characteristics towards thse two disciplines... im tossing up between names like the Nelson free ride board and legendary demon..... any others i should consider?
you want to slide? get a agent or a catalist, some earthwing slide A's or some rainskates killer bee's and throw a set of randals on there and your gonna slide+ have heaps of fun in carparks bombing down then sliding round corners in a switch checkslide
