ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

I'm after like an old school sort of pool deck. One with a kick at the back and a slight kick at the nose. A board that is versatile for either skateparks, pools, ditch slashing, or just cruising around town. But I am also looking to find a cheap one. Nothing too expensive. Any suggestions would be great.

This is a great board for all the things you wish just ask hop.

From hop-My daughter has this board, and it is an excellent mini. I love skating around on it.
It is very similar to the dogtown locker deck, which is also a mini skateboard.
My daughter is 6. She has learnt how to skate on this, taught herself how to push, carve even skate some banks. I think boards this size are what all kids should start out on, with big fat wheels that can roll over anything. Though anyone can skate on this, suit all types.
What I really like about this board is its size. On rainy days we skate the polished wooden floors inside the house, usually up and down the hallway. Because of it's size, it does not look like it will damage anything and does not bother she-who-must-be-obeyed.
For second hand pool gear try charliedontskate.com and post up in buy swap sell. Thats where all the oldskool skaters hang out. I'm sure someone will be willing to help you.
Thats the forum from which the ASRA site spawned.
get your hands on a seccond hand re-issue or find someone who is local and makes decks
There are some great old school decks out there. A second hand deck is going to be trashed a bit, try to buy a new one. You want to be the one doing the trashing.

It looks like a lot of money but it is a bargain. We were selling these last year for $250. The last one I sold, I see the guy cruising around on it, I have never seen a skater so happy.
It is a big pool board. kicks are mellow. Set it up with tsunami rainskates it is an awesome ditch board, and cruiser. And it kills in the park. Small enough to ride in the pool or park, big enough for the ditch and cruising.
Pocket Pistols or PPS
PPS boards are screenprinted old school style. Why is this better? See the pocket pistol video on the blog
Pick your size, and give the hopshop a call on 80601588 to see if we have it. PPS board come in and out real quick.
Skaterbuilt
This skaterbuilt is a good board
Hop's suggestion of the Skaterbuilt is spot-on. It's such a versatile thing - wheelbase anywhere from 16" to 20". A nice pool deck all the way to a slalom board/street cruiser. The Skaterbuilts are very nicely made, clean finish, and strong. They look better in real life than in photos. They're a bargain compared to paying full price for a Powell re-issue which is really all about nostalgia and graphics.
bugs knows, bought a skaterbuilt vrs III of hop for slalom and luv it, if I needed a new board for trannies and would buy the same deck and set it up for so, vercitile with a capital V
