Making A Board

Howdy, I am thinking about making a drop thru speed board as my first make. Can any one help me with the correct wood to use and were to buy it in Brisbane?

hey mate, good luck finding just a couple of vaeers, i tried to do the same thing but they wont sell only 20 or so to you, they sell them in 100's,
please let me know if you do find some !
