hey guys, how do you go about the wearing down of your shoe from foot braking???
it costs quiet a bit to buy new shoes...
any ideas on how to fix this problem??

i dont think i could be assed cutting up a car tyre, and i'm too stingy to spend $36 on two hopkins soles (learning to break with both feet + dont want to be walking back up the hill lopsided) I'm planning on going to clark rubber and getting a sheet of rubber, any tips/ experiences? alternatives?
maybe someone who is good at cutting up car tyres wants to make up a bunch and sell em to people like myself?

I use the hopkin foot breaking sole.
They are rad.
Since I use my board about 4 times a day (to get to work and back, as well as to shoot out and get lunch/smokes/beer/chocolate/etc/etc) Ive got one on each shoe and just wear them around all day. They last really well.

rogers brothers is the best sole you can buy but you have to get the from o/s i think...they are a bitch to get off cause they break into peices but when you plant your foot they grip like a mofo,,plus it wont melt your griptape like tyre does if you have a long brake at speed...or the hop rubber is great aswell and much easier to get..
the other alternative is buy more wheels......

car tyre melts ur grip? 0.0 dayumm..
on another note, u can velcro it unto ur shoo like G does. All you need then is super glue and velcro. it makes swapping soles a breeze!

I used to use the Clarke rubber stuff, but the hopkin stuff is substantially better. Definitely worth the extra cash cause it lasts a lot longer

btw i sent roger bros an email and their soles are $33.45(us) for 5 soles shipped to aust.

You can buy sheets of the roger bros rubber from clarke rubber. It is just normal 6mm non-vulcanized recycled chopped rubber sheet. It will cost you about $50 for a 1200 x 600mm sheet which will do about 40 soles. Its good if all you use the shoe for is downhill but it will also wear out just walking to the shops. The main problem is its got no vulcunised sections (being heat treated rubber that car tryes and shoe soles are made of) so is very brittle and can wear out at the edges by just standing on it. But like I said if you just use the shoe/s for DH it is nice and smooth
