i chose the cheapest ones i could find off ebay in my size, cost me about $110 for a new pair delivered, you can often get second hand in good nick for around $60-80 just got to keep your eye out for a few weeks.

didn't know you could get extra padding but knee and hip might be worth looking into.

actually i've never even owned a pair but i have a friend to does and they look cool, cheers.

I wore a pair of black cargo draggin jeans all through brazil, canada and california. I brought them home with me still in one piece but looking a bit worse for wear on the knees and butt. Three weeks later they finally got so fucked i couldnt wear them, ripped to shreds, the kevlar thoroughly worn through. Even the seam running from the top of my ass all the way between my legs up to the button at the front split from the stress of pushing off the start line at the galston outlaw. I wouldn't reccomend them.

However, Kamakazy has a set of the tight fit slicks and i've seen him eat shit in those jeans many a time and they still hold up. He sewed a patch of leather across the seam on his ass to stop it splitting whenever he slid his butt on the ground doing heelsides. I also remember Benbro having a bit of foam inserted into a little pocket he sewed on the inside of the jeans on his knees, or alternatively you can slip on some  Pro Tec Double Down Knee Pads underneath the jeans, Jacko uses them with his draggins.

I would recommend getting some leather and either sewing it yourself or taking it all to a tailor and getting them to sew patches on your ass and knees, make them a bit more hardy. You could also make some foam inserts around your hips to keep them nice and padded.

Remember, the tighter fitting jeans will grab at the road less when you come off your board, they wear like leathers rather than ripping open like most jeans/shorts. Come down to Sydney for a day and try a few on in the motorbike shops before you buy them. I can also give you the number to an awesome motorbike leather repair shop that really dig what we do and are keen to help pimp out some clothes with leather.

Fiona at Draggin will be interested in how the jeans are working out.
That way she can develop the design.

http://www.dragginjeans.net/product/slix%20for%20men Maybe these? But they are expensive.
thanks guys :D
i got a pair of traffic style jeans and they came with a small foam insert in a pocket over the knee's and it pretty much takes the impact when i fall, i like it, its a simple and effective way of protecting my knee's in minor crash's
