Get excited, time to dust off the old snake run skate machines and do a little bank slalom.
Where: Dulwich Hill Snake Run
What: *NEW* Battle Jam Showdown format - single timed runs.
Round 1
Everybody does four runs, and are then ranked in order of their total time. The fastest rider in the round wins $. The slowest half of the riders are eliminated. The fastest half progress to Round 2.
Round 2
Exactly the same as Round 1, but with more $$. Your times from the previous round do not carry into this round - you start fresh.
Round 3
Exactly the same as Round 2, but with even more $$$!
Final
The fastest two riders from Round 3 have two more runs each. Those two times are added, and the winner is...well, the winner. He'll get $$$$.
Note:
If you hit a cone, or fail to finish the course, it is a DQ. But don't worry - you still get a time for DQs - it will be your slowest time in that round plus two seconds.
When: 23/06/12 - 9am onwards
Entry: $20 - signup on the day @ 9am sharp

looking forward to this event so much. we have a few of us from newy coming down to shred
No practice for me, I'm in Melbourne but could sneak up for the day. Doesn't look too far from the airport, might skate there.
So far start will be push in. We're working out the logistics of a ramp, but you'll find out on the day.
Rego and entry details will be up this week. If you go to practice, its a anti-clockwise line round the end bowl and out. Its not easy to get out and finish the course if you can't pump transition...
How's the start work? Push in, start ramp, slingshot?
I've never done any slalom before, is it okay if i have a go?
Also, will the cones be where they are in the picture? I wouldn't mind some sneaky practise haha
If you have a slow run you might be finished, so don't have any slow runs! And all your sins (and slow runs) are washed away every round, so it's not so harsh.
(I updated the description of the race format to add more detail and make it sound even more confusing, ha!)
In our test runs the other day each run was about 10 seconds long. This thing is short and we're gonna do a shload of runs - the top two are probably gonna do 14 timed runs each.
whats with this average timed stuff. Come on lets not make things harder so if you have a slow run you are pretty much finished. Doesn't excite me ... So if you are super pumped to beat your last time and blow out you are pretty much over.. So should i turn on my mr average hat for this race?
Tennis!!
New Battle Showdown Jam format explained a little in the description ^
