Volunteer at Newtons
If competing at Newton's Playground isn't your cup of beer you can still be a part of the event. We need volunteers to help with things like track marshaling, track sweeping, track setup, and general running/fetching/organising/administration stuff.
If you volunteer you'll get to see a bit of the inside working of the event, get a free T-shirt, and experience the warm glow of contributing to the biggest downhill skate event ever held in Australia. And that's true for every member of the organising committee - ASRA is run wholly by volunteers doing it for the love.
To volunteer, simply complete the Volunteer Registration Form.
(Note: Registering to volunteer doesn't guarantee you a volunteer's spot. If we get too many people we will have to narrow down the list.)

Another task we are hoping we can line up volunteers to do is drive shuttle buses during the day between the start and finish lines to get riders back up the hill.
Please let us know whether you are interested in doing this. Ideally we would be able to rotate a handful of people so that no one has to drive for more than half a day.

You'd need to be there bright and early on Friday morning, which realistically means arriving on Thursday night or earlier. There'll be work to do all week, so getting there early isn't a problem.
I think you should be able to camp on the mountain during that week. If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.

I always believed in charity.. how can be selfish? :p
I finish my exams on the 25th, so it'll be one fun wednesday-thursday hauling ass from melbourne to barthurst =]
