ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

i got gogs a few days ago, just need to quiet them down a bit if possible.

i have flanged kingpin bolts so to address washer noise, just that damn spherical click left.

the pivot & kingpin sphericals are lubed well, but still have that 'new spherical' click sound.

i know they need to break-in but is there anything i can do to help the process?

do u guys pack grease in them or s'thing or just ride them & slowly wear them in?

thx for any help/suggestions...hope u all had a great xmas+newyear.

have you trimmed your bushings so they sit flush around the bearing.

thats all i did and have no noise with GOGS

cant say if i would have as i did this from the start

I will get flamed massively for saying this, Design fault.

I bet its the rear truck? My homer doesn't make any sound.

Robbo had the same problem on his RacerX. I put it down to the 2 part baseplate however without owning one I never had the chance to find out for sure.

If I were you I wouldn't dabble with the sphericals.

I'm keen to have a local slalom session next weekend. Bring yer rig and I'm interested to take a look.

riding it spaced out to max on rough roads and cracks will put a lot of stress on the axles. the force is moved further out so it would increase torque on the threads. Plus sphericals aren't meant for dropping off kurbs etc and neither are pavel foamcores haha. get an axe series skatekings deck with bennetts for commuting

Interesting how they went back to silver on Gog's.

I like how they include the protractor scale too.

Craig,

Check that there is no play between the baseplate and hanger.  On mine there was which caused a clicking sound when turning, so I just tightened the nut on the adjustable base plate.
