ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Seems theres a bit of interest in these so if you want one for your board i can make one. Just need a template of the nose section (paper, wood) It is better to have the deck to get it perfect.

OK HERES HOW IT WORKS, You send me a paper template, Youll need a peice about 200 x 200. Take the front truck off your board and place paper, or perefably light carboard under the nose and past the truck holes. Trace it, Truck cutout and holes, and make sure its correct cause i will use that as the actuall template by glueing it to my Alum base plate (then i will weld the actuall guard to that) I will also need to know the thickness of your deck, most important..

It is better if i can get your deck or the actuall model deck to make it with, so for those in the Shire im in Caringbah, you can drop it off.

Post the template to:

Will this guard absorb the impact or will it end up just cracking my board

Ive got a Switchbade, do I still need to tell give you a template?

Hey Col, i really want to get a pair of noseguards! (a set for 1 board) Just wondering how much it would cost if you could chuck in some rubber between the wood and aluminum. The board is Earthwing supermodel, and i might be buying some guards of you very soon. Cheers Joao.

Also how would i pay you? im from Queensland.

Hey Col I have a wolfshark. If you don't already have a template I'll send one over. Also The wolf shark has several front wheel base options - Current options are top mounting the nose guard (which only uses the first 2 bolt holes) or if you could send me 2 pieces the nose guard and a second small riser piece to run on the 2 set of wheel base holes. if you know what I mean.

OK I've drawn the template. I've also marked off the first 3 mounting holes, I've also given you the length from the tip of the nose till just past the last holes = 190mm. Not sure whether having the nose guard in 2 pieces or covering the entire wheel base is the way to go. I'm just worried about vibration with the latter option.

I have a template for Earth wing supermodel, $50 for both ends. ($25 each) plus postage which will be around $5,, postage adds up when i make a heap so i have to charge for that now.

The best thing fellas is to make a wooden template, id prefer to do this because i will use this to make others of that model.   Place a peice of wood under the nose (the same thickness of your board, i use ply) clamp it, make sure the wood covers all mounting holes and protrudes over the nose and sides. drill mounting holes and mount. Now that the wood is mounted trace nose onto wooden template and cut out, it has to be perfect, so take it of the board to cut it. Remount and file to suit nose profile, got to be perfect!..

.If you send me a paper template i have to glue this to a peice of wood then cut out your tracing (hopeing u havent fucked it up) i then glue a peice of rubber onto the front of the template, this is to take the place of the rubber i glue to the guard, there needs to be a 3mm space here for the rubber when welding the front bit on the guard.

MUCH EASIER TO HAVE THE DECK,, for 2 reasons, one I can make the template for future decks of that model, two so its spot on!!

Hey Col since you have my deck could you drill the wheelbase holes for me? I made a mess of the last nose guard I drilled

Hey Col thanks for the nose guard. Quality work once again!
