Just wondering if anyone has heard, seen or riden one of these devices?
It looks pretty gnarly from the few vids that I've seen, fun but way hectic!! Apparently snowboarding wihtout the snow?

hahaha freebord flame threads are classic.
most of you seem like pretty good blokes, some of you are obviously clueless about freebording. just know this, if you are a dedicated longboarder you will never know what it feels like to throw spins and slides as smooth and linked the way a freebord does it. no skateboarder can do the kind of sick freestyle we can and then go bomb a hill at 80-90 on the same board with no adjustment. speed wobbles are a physical impossibility.
sure, if a longboarder is good he can go faster down a hill, but not without putting his gloves on the pavement on the type of hills i like to ride.

Well said Macca, you pretty much summed it up. And I think that boredom is the only reason that anyone is here, that and procrastination hahaha.
It's good to see you're still shredding it, I don't think I ever would've taken up freebording if I hadn't stumbled upon early clips of you, Luke and Sam making it look so fuckin sick, so cheers.

and Kelly the wise old sage, "this is ASRA" so true. dont come on a skaters forum and try to tell them that freebords are better cause im pretty sure you are gonna be out numbered here.

Yeah it is one funny thread (damn hackers), and I watched jacko's video before I started posting here. He does some nice hand-slides but they weren't longer, smoother, floatier, as controlled, or 'better' than I can do with a centre wheel.
I can slide better than that without gloves...
ps. this topic was started by a longboarder, not freeborders, and he was looking for feedback about freebording so of course there's going to be freeborders on here because, having successfully learnt to ride one, we can better answer his questions, and defend it from all the misinformation put out by the deluded longboarding elitists amongst you who have either never tried it, or tried it and found it too difficult.

phil i dont think anyone who rides one is gonna try argue that point, i mean i still skate street and longboard and i still get out on my freebord once a month or so and to ride some manny pads and some chilled out hills around the city on it, i still dont think you can beat a session at linkin plaza with a few crew riding a freebord

The freeborders on here own and ride longboards. So we are have the right to join ASRA.The thread was started a non freebording longboarder who wanted to share the experience.
It is funny how us freeborders on here have experience on both, yet it would seem the bogus claims about longboarders doing bigger better smoother slides comes from longboarders who dont ride freebords. You guys dont have to feel insecure or inadequate. Freebords are for snowboarding the streets.
We are on ASRA...We do ride longboards and we will defend freebording. We are not saying they are better than longboards...but when people who have not experienced them make stupid comments or claims about their ability to slide...of course were going to try and educate the unexperienced and non believers. Just remember that we ride both longboards and freebords so we do know from experience.. not from assumptions.

this is a freebord thread, remember? the first guy who posted was a longboarder looking for feedback on freebords and all that happened was a whole heap of unjustified negative comments came flowing in from longboarders. and jacko's comment was stupid and inflammatory, full stop.

haha I dont recall the part where we said that freebords dont slide as far as a longboard, we all know that they are designed to slide, everywhere.
freebords are for fucking kooks thats the long and short of it, they are as lame as a skateboard with brakes. and for that mater 99% of the guys Ive seen in the all the vids dont look like they have snowboarding steeze either, they ALL look like people that have just learnt how to ride a snowboard. KOOKS I TELL YOU!
