to right jacko, this site is responsible for a huge growth in this sport in oz,its put it out there more ,and that is rad,
In the forums drop down a Starting out/How to do stuff section where anyone new or thinking about speedboarding can sus out how to set up there saftey gear ,boards, learning the ropes.
Way back when, and in a few places still, you could rock up anywhere with a board and local guys would show you the best places in their back yards to skate. You could always ask anyone for help with a technique or a set up and everyone was only too willing to help out; that kinda changed for various reasons all over Europe in the late 80's early 90's. So how refreshing is it to be welcomed into a community like this, to echo others, no egos, no bitching, just skaters being skaters. To have somewhere this can happen and grow and also show everyone else how it should be done is truly a great thing, and at the same time promoting a side of skating almost forgotten thanks to the empty pool boys >:0)
well done and thankyou; after years skating out in the cold it's good to be in.
This site renewed my faith in humanity
Hey Dave and Bugs...wondering if perhaps you should stick a girl amongst the hardcore punks on the main page graphic...girls can have a hard time feeling welcome in the skate world as it is culturally masculine. This is in spite of how friendly all the dudes are. Might be good for ASRA to more openly promote female involvement, and show female content...other than that, I enjoy watching the site grow and the machine that is ASRA elevate downhill skating...doing a good job buggle...
thats a shame leady feels that way,i enjoyed his contributions and input in to this site, it is people like him who combine to make the site what it is, EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion, and that is what its all about, being open minded, It doesnt matter if people have different ideas as everyone skates different and different gear works for different riders, i disagree with the site bein Hard Edge and only race related, some skaters may be more passionate about racing than others but thats there path they choose to go down, for the rest of us ,skating will always be a passion n pastime, all for the stoke of rollin, for me i sit on the fence, coz i recon racin is rad but just get stoked free ridin with mates! ability doesnt matter ....the raddest skater is the one havin the most fun.
thankyou bugs. love this site it my escape from school. u have like bonded the skating community together.
and i have recieved great advice, and encourage ment from u all which helps
bye bye leadfoot, wherever you are....
Sweet!

Like you said Ben, it's just opinions and i didn't write the above to stir up a hornets nest. It was an honest goodbye.
I have deleted my Goodbye to Leady post as i don't wish to cause offence or for anyone to mis construe what i said and go off on a tangent and what not. This site is still the best thing that has happened to skateboarding in a long while, just keep it sane.
where did he go? why?
