Have you ever needed your helmet?
Just for the Groms who dont seem to see the need to wear helmets, I am interested in people answering the following (I would like to make it a poll, but that doesnt seem to be an option).
Please choose from:
- I never wear a helmet and have never hit my head

- I always wear a helmet and have never had a use for it

18 months ago my answer would have been:
I never wear a helmet and have hit my head.
After the above, I started wearing a helmet...
Now my answer is:
I always wear a helmet and it has saved my life.
Yep, I headed the warning and it saved my life 6 months later.

This is a story about a severe head injury from skateboarding. This guy will be affected by his injury for the rest of his life. Please read this !
On a personal note I slammed in 1979 and a helmet saved my life ( head on collision with another skater with 4 days on life support... 25 years later I develop T.L. Epilepsy as a result of this injury and have been taking 3 tablets everyday to survive for the past 6 years and will be for the rest of my life. WEAR YOUR HELMET

I do declare that I always (*) wear a helmet and It has saved me, doing a Upark in Adelaide, SnakeRun, one foot came off the board, nearly lost my manhood in the same accident! Helmet now has a deeeeep scratch in it. Better than my skull though!
* if its a flat, 2 minute ride up to a mates or the shops then sometimes im a bit naughty.

I always wear a helmet and It has saved my life
Been horse riding for 9 years, always wear/wore a helmet..
I can admit I never hit my head (wrong) except for the one time when I got thrown forward and actually landed head first.. sore neck for a few weeks and a headache, felt really lucky.
And for skating I always wear a helmet.

ALWAYS wear a helmet and its saved my life ... Countless times !! REPLACE helmets regulary ,never re use a helmet after a severe accident . X rated !! enjoy skating for years !!
