Eliminators
Thinking of getting new bushings soon, I'm using Venom DHs at the moment, and just was wondering what the aim/type of riding these bushings were developed for. The DHs are super-stable, are the elims just another DH bushing? ie:what differences in riding is there between the two? And what does the stepped design try to achieve?

Just in-case it helps, I'm skating a Hellcat with 42* Randal 180s and cup washers on the bushings (top flipped).

Well this may not be theoretically correct but this is what I feel
Elims-more stable at speed, less turn at lower speeds, turn is limited as the bushing cant compress as much.
Barrels-much deeper turn, shit loads divier, great rebound and RTC, not as stable as elims but more fun at lower speeds.
I'm running a red elim boardside, red barrel roadside with flat washers in bear 1040's for fast freeride, the turn is stupidly deep (but i think that might just be the old bears) feels pretty solid at speed but still got a nice dive to it.

really depends on the weight of the rider though. i found red elims to be way too restrictive under my weight (70kgs).
jonty you can test the ones i have out if you want. no point spending money on them to find they are only good in a straight line.

mmmm yeah usually reds are fuckin hard but for some reason in these bears its still super divey, and having a elim-barrel combo gives u the best of both worlds :)

yeh i have the old bears and they still have the pumpkins in them. soo ive heard that the best mix is a red and green barrel for kinda all rounding. im pretty light too.

I used a divine/SHR elim combo 90a & 86a(Elim), and found it to be alot more stable than a double barrel 90a in my Paris 195s tested on an Evo and Avenger. I weigh 90kg btw.

I'd appreciate that Leigh, I'll try to skate with you in a week or so, we might head out tomorrow...but looking rainy and ghey ATM.
I think I weigh around 60kg, and I have DH red boardside and DH yellow roadside. From the sounds of things I would need a lower duro for elims. But I think I will go for DH SHR Venoms next, because I enjoy the deep carves, mad for standies, and I need that turn at lower speed, freeridey stuff and my DHs are plenty stable for me. Cheers for the responses.
Alex, do you feel any diff between regular and SHR?

Jonty, i weigh the same as you and have a good bushing setup (i think).
At the back i have: road-side: red DH venom barrel and board-side: green DH venom barrel.
At the front i have : road-side: Sea foam green SHR venom barrel and board-side: pastel blue SHR venom barrel.
Robbo aka Robtech set me up with these bushings so i could be stable at speeds and be able to slash on when freeriding whilst "living on the edge."

I've found there is more give in the SHRs over normal, I was rocking a dh bush combo, and still comfortably freeriding, cus you are so light I wouldn't get SHR elims any harder than 86a. 86s give more than I thought they would and I love them. I'm getting SHR elims 94a next for a pure downhill set-up though. I hope this helped.
