if its possible on a luge its possible on a longboard.
Im pretty sure that Man Child has attempted Mee and came off. Did his ankle pretty bad, hit a cats eye!!!
there are two sides to mee, the footage of craig is not the daybro side, yet again though those who were thinking about it should get in touch with locals that ride there frequently, they know when to go and why
Cool to see road discussions get going but i was hoping for some ones around sunny coast and stuff. I lived near this spot as a kid and there are heaps of hills around there, they could be still abit to rural. The section from St johns college down perwillowen rd, that connects to the towen mountain rd highlighted has been resurfaced since the days old, before i got in to this i went up to the DPI for work. I know it is straight for about a k with a long steep bit at the end over the brige and sweeps in to a left to slow down on, Coes creek rd and others, must be heaps of little quiet roads in and around there. Just waiting for a few keen searchers, maybe i just remeber them as bigger as i was a strapper on a BMX at the time???? They might just be good for some people like me who are happy to slide, drift and do 50-60 or there could be some fast ones????
any more thoughts sunny coasters

i remember a few years ago when i was over in the sunshine coast with the fam, driving up this long, steep, winding road with lots of hairpins. at the time i wasn't even gonna contemplate it, but next time i'm up there i'm definitely gonna hit it. can't remember where exactly it was, but i'll try and find out tonight.
nup behind nambour
a section of Coes creek rd, Looks like the best bet around that area you can tell its a smooth road looking at the street view.
I rode the Palmwoods Montville rd that Leigh mentioned when I was up there 2 years ago, great fun, lots of different patches - rough and smooth, not that steep and heaps of corners, not very busy either. The hill featured in Mat's infamous escapade was the Nambour Mapleton rd, a much busier main road.

Adam, maybe your concept of Sunny coast doesn't extend this far inland, but most of the hills mentioned here are close by in the hills behind, can't ask for much better I reckon.

As far as if it can be done on luge it can be done stand-up, generally speaking I agree, but with the qualification that luges can handle a lot rougher surface than stand-up. But if the surface is ok, yeah no reason why not - though as Pete says, experience and skill level is very important for some of these roads.

Mt Mee has only ever been ridden by luge riders and they crack the 100 mark on it I've heard.........A few skaters have checked it out but the speeds would be to quick for the slight bend in the road.
@ Leigh, Yes if you remember manchild who skates in sydney now, He had the youtube video of it which he got himself into quite abit of trouble uploading it. Looks like a pretty serious hilll. Would recommened a very early mornign session on that hill and if you happen to be seen riding it........ It will be on the front page of the sunshine coast daily the next day haha.
dude i totally know these roads and i'm pumped on the prospect i guess the MT mee road i thought it was near brissy, i could be wrong???? i really like the idea of the palwoods montville rd. wish i had the balls to do maleny landsbourough????

Maleny-landsborough rd willl never be ridden, in this century I'd say. I wouldn't dare to even attempt it. It'd be way to quick to handle spitting you out into a bend which turns into rough road...........

dear all,
i did Mt Mee few years ago. came off on first run, and the second i hit a cats eye at the end of the straight. spent a month on crutches. steve is the only stand up to do it clean. In my opinion its gnarly but doable. i was inexperienced when i hit it but am keen to hit it in the next few months when i'm speedboarding again. The main thing to think about is your approach into the first corner out of the straight. Too much speed and ur over. The road is thin and its a know motorbike road. it is only suitable to ride super early in the morning.
ps there are more cars on it than you think...don't do it
