if its possible on a luge its possible on a longboard.
i remember a few years ago when i was over in the sunshine coast with the fam, driving up this long, steep, winding road with lots of hairpins. at the time i wasn't even gonna contemplate it, but next time i'm up there i'm definitely gonna hit it. can't remember where exactly it was, but i'll try and find out tonight.
Mt Mee has only ever been ridden by luge riders and they crack the 100 mark on it I've heard.........A few skaters have checked it out but the speeds would be to quick for the slight bend in the road.
@ Leigh, Yes if you remember manchild who skates in sydney now, He had the youtube video of it which he got himself into quite abit of trouble uploading it. Looks like a pretty serious hilll. Would recommened a very early mornign session on that hill and if you happen to be seen riding it........ It will be on the front page of the sunshine coast daily the next day haha.
I rode the Palmwoods Montville rd that Leigh mentioned when I was up there 2 years ago, great fun, lots of different patches - rough and smooth, not that steep and heaps of corners, not very busy either. The hill featured in Mat's infamous escapade was the Nambour Mapleton rd, a much busier main road.
Adam, maybe your concept of Sunny coast doesn't extend this far inland, but most of the hills mentioned here are close by in the hills behind, can't ask for much better I reckon.
As far as if it can be done on luge it can be done stand-up, generally speaking I agree, but with the qualification that luges can handle a lot rougher surface than stand-up. But if the surface is ok, yeah no reason why not - though as Pete says, experience and skill level is very important for some of these roads.
