cars fail at measuring speed. speedos suck. only way to get a true reading is to have a gps.... or get a really nice cop to clock you on their speed gun i guess

usually have a car behind to measure speed, but hell keen to get a handheld gps so dont get run over if u eat it aye, yeah having hit 85 after regular 60s is a major step, fucking big scary one at that too

@rosco. you don't have to spend big bucks to go fast(talking if bearings here, but applies to other stuff too.) bearings wise, the benefit of ceramics is more that they handle grit and crap more(ceramic balls are much harder, and crush any grit that gets in them, as opposed to stainless steel balls, which get micro scratches in them much easier, and therefore are not as smooth). cleanliness of your bearings make way more difference than ABEC rating. skateboarders don't go nearly fast enough for ABEC ratings to make significant difference. so as far as ceramic v titanium v stainless steel, ceramic is the pick, but more so because they last. but keeping your bearings clean and lubricated with the proper lube(ie speed cream, not WD40, or oil, or diesel) and she'l be peaches. that was the long answer. short answer-yeah, i got swiss ceramic 6's in one of my boards- good bearings:)
also, how is everyone measuring their speeds? Because true 85k's is cooking, and 100k's is very hard to get around here?
ps. word ian, especially to your p.p.s.

you dont need to buy precision trucks to get into downhill. if you have a set of randal 180's/ or paris they are fine! all you need is some new stiff bush! you don't even need reverse kingpin trucks. many people ride indy 215's and love them.

its 90% rider 10% gear. what i would recommend before you go out and spend $500+ or so on a set of cnc trucks is buying a bushing kit. have a play with them in your cast trucks and see what feels good for you. i guarantee that this will make you a better skater.

p.s. i do love my kahas, great versatile truck. tight they are well solid, but if you but something softer in there they are super carvey.

p.p.s. having expensive trucks doesn't automatically make you an great skater it takes practice!

buying new precision trucks thinking of going the bears 45degrees on 190 axle. or the munkeys but need to be able to go over 100 kmhr cozz i just saw welshpool road and got wobbles at round 85 so just asking ian do your kala's handle 100kmhr. like the 46 degree base plate. just asking cozz lot of money for trucks.

Hehe, yeah I'm contemplating new trucks for downhill... I think if I can handle speed wobbles on bombing runs on sidewinders I'm doing pretty good.

@freedom dan- Yeah man I didn't expect you to come find me lol. I was just saying that in case we met up and you'd know who I am from my style of board.

Went into the city yesters and my mate (The Voice- his voice is incredible loud and annoying) picked up some titanium bearings--not having enough dosh for ceramic 6's.

Does anyone else ride ceramics here?
